Description

Authentic Madras, woven in India.

  • Breezy, broken in madras cloth
  • Buttondown collar
  • Bold, lasting yarn-dyed color
  • Long sleeves with two-button adjustable cuffs
  • Traditional Fit: the classic American cut

Feeling cool in India’s intense heat made the fabric famous — so imagine how good our Madras Shirt will feel where you live. But we weren’t content to recreate the fabric. Although it’s woven in India like the original, we improved it — with single-ply yarns that are ringspun for strength, and softness born of garment washing. 100% cotton. Machine wash. Imported.

Men's Long Sleeve Light Emerald Madras Shirt 4 5 4 4
Lightweight and comfortable. The light fabric was soft and didn't show wrinkles. It was very comfortable to wear. April 26, 2013
Long Sleeve Light Emerald Madras Shirt I beg to differ with the earlier reviewer who complained about the quality of this shirt. Madras is indeed a very lightweight, breezy cotton material. I have lost count of how many LE madras shirts I own, both long and short sleeve…some dating back 10 or more years. I wear them extensively every summer and every shirt is still in perfect shape. Madras was my choice in summer shirts back in the day (the early 60's) and these LE shirts are even better because the material is colourfast…back then, it was called "bleeding madras". These shirts do indeed need to be ironed, but there again, everything in the 60's had to be ironed. I just ordered two more of the long sleeve variants. These 100% cotton, lightweight, breezy shirts have a classic fit in attractive, authentic patterns and will keep you cool all summer long for years to come! April 25, 2013
Apparently the previous commenter is unfamiliar with Madras Soft, light, perfect for hot days April 24, 2013
wrinkly disposable one time use shirt The pictures are deceiving. These are so thin and flimsy, should be considered "one time use," very thin, made to be wrinkly, not lasting more than regular tissue paper. These are so poor quality, one wonders why Lands end bother selling them. They are made extremely thin for very hot summer, so thin that they won't last a day. February 27, 2013
