It's got texture, interest and an instant classic
Now my husband is no tie expert. He wears them on special occasions and that's about it. Let me start by saying he had no problems tying this tie. I even went back and reviewed pictures and I am not seeing a bulking, awkward looking knot (and I would have heard about it if there were any problems). Looks perfectly normal.
That said, I love the tie. I think it was an excellent choice. There are hundreds of silk ties to this stripe patter or that plaid pattern, but there aren't many ties out there with texture. That's what I love about this tie. They're nice colors that compliment a nice dress shirt - my husband wore with a plaid dress shirt for our Christmas card pictures.
This one will be hanging around the closet for many years to come. I'm tempted to pick up one in another color...

This tie is great....if you're going for that Fred Flintstone look.
I've been wearing ties for many many years and I know how to tie a few knots. But no matter how I try, this tie is oddly bulky and looks nothing like the photo. It went immediately into the "donate" pile.
