Squall Parka Great coat, only complaint is that my prior one had more inside pockets & I do not no why they removed them. April 13, 2013
Warm Coat...Bad Design The coat is warm and comfortable..Thats the good part..It is almost impossible to zipper up the coat and it is also almost impossible to attach the hood once it is removed.. Poorly designed. To many problems and would not recommend March 14, 2013
$200 Jacket with a 10 Cent Zipper. This jacket is warm, looks great, has more pockets than you can use. I really like it, but the zipper started giving me trouble the first winter. This winter, the second, it is about useless. Either it will not zip up or it will unzip at the bottom leaving the second half of the zipper at the bottom resulting in spending 20 minutes trying to move the upper half of the zipper back to the bottom so you can take off the jacket. This would be the best jacket possible if they would just invest in a $1 zipper. February 19, 2013
This parka has lost a lot of quality I ordered a mens medium to replace my old parka because the zipper broke. I ordered a mens because the womens parkas don't have enough pockets. To my disappointment, they have eliminated three inside pockets; the parka fits smaller than my last one; and the material is more flimsy. The express delivery was very fast, but I have to keep this coat because it's the only winter coat I have. Next year I will have to buy a mens large. Very disappointed in this parka. Not nearly as good as the previous version. February 19, 2013
Great coat - but HATE the zipper! This is a great coat. It can get really windy and cold here in Buffalo, NY, and this coat is more than up to the task of keeping me warm. Comfortable, not too heavy or bulky and good looking, too. Like all the pockets and especially like that the hood can be removed. The collar, oddly enough, needed a bit of breaking in to get it to lie flat because of the way the insulation is carried up into it, but now that is fine, too. My only issue is with the zipper. A 2-way zipper is definitely needed on a garment of this length to prevent its riding up on you when sitting - especially to drive. BUT, getting the darned thing zipped can be a real hassle. The coat is just long enough that in order to reach the zipper you must bend down a bit and pull the bottom of the coat up - which causes it to bunch up just enough to make it hard to see the zipper. Then you must be very sure that the two parts of the zipper slide are tight together in order to allow the tab part to seat firmly through both pieces. Sometimes this can take several tries to get everything lined up just right! If you are in a hurry this can be VERY frustrating! Other than that, as I said, great coat and great value - even at full price. January 29, 2013
very nice Not as warm as I expected. Lack of insulation in the sleeves. It fits small a little. Sleeves are tight and a little bit short (size S)... At -20C arms felt freezy. BUT it looks good, quality seems to be very good, length keeps warm. Comfortable enough for driving ( long coat is a plus when sitting on a cold car seat)... I recommend it for a mild wet winter. Coat is great - but zipper only works part of the time This coat is great - everything the advertising claims. Comfortable, snug, fits well. But the zipper appears to be haunted. It works easily most of the time. Then, without warning, you cannot make it work. It won't even start. The coat comes with directions for how to use the zipper, which should have been a warning, but even with those directions there is no guarantee that you can get it to work. It's not that it sticks - you can't even get it that far. It simply won't engage. Then, 12 hours later, it works fine. Then it won't work again, etc. This is the second Land's End coat I've owned with this type of zipper defect, so I suspect a pattern. I called the company to see what I was doing wrong, and learned that there were "no product specialists here at this time." "Are there ever any product specialists there?" "No, sir." So, no help from the company is forthcoming. For anyone who lives where zipping your coat up is mostly optional, this coat will be fine. And there are also velcro patches you can use instead of the zipper. But for anyone who needs to depend on zipping it up more than, say, about 85% of the time, avoid this one. January 15, 2013
Exactly as advertised... The hidden banded wrist cuffs are perfect for keeping out cold winds but maintaining goods looks. The waist band can be tightened if desired and it too is hidden because it only tightens the interior liner. The long length also helps keep out the wind. I walk much more here in Germany than in the US and this handles the wet/cold European winter weather well. January 6, 2013
Great Coat, Terrible Zipper I tried this coat on and immediately fell in love with it, that is, until I tried to zip it. The coat is very warm, and fits great, but the zipper is a real hassle. After several attempts to zip it up, I took it off, laid it out, and tried again. This was successful so I put it back on and tried again. Again the zipper failed after a few attempts. I decided to return it and it hung in the closet for a couple weeks. As the weather turned wintry I thought I would give it another try. Again I laid it out to see if I could determine the problem. No problem when it is laying flat. I put it on and tried again. After several attempts I was able to zip it. It appears that the zipper does not stay down as you insert the bottom of one side into the other. After figuring this out, I thought I would keep it after all, but it has been a continue hassle. Most of the time I cannot just zip it up and go. It is a hassle and takes some effort and patience! And don't even bother trying to zip it up if your're in a hurry. Very disappointing December 28, 2012
Truely is waterproof Love the two way zipper. Makes it convient to stay zipped-up in a cold car. December 26, 2012
