Socks are not soft and elastic did no hold up the first day i wore them.

Good looking comfort
Socks should be simple: fit well, wear well, and look good. I recommend these straight forward socks on all three measures of what a sock should be. I have purchased these socks three times. First because I believed they would be as advertised and they were. Second and third times because I wanted more of an excellent product. They are 'only socks' but they keep my feet happy and that works for me.

Quality is gone
These are not the same sox as purchased in years past. They are thin and feel like they are made of nylon, or something. And, it is now a 2-pack, not a 3-pack like before. Big savings for Lands End, no benefit to the customer. Will not order again.

Comfortable fit for large, but not too large feet
As one with a size 12 shoe, I find myself an in-between-er when buying cotton socks: L is too small after laundering and XL fits more like OMG. The XL for this product is perfect for me: a little room to move my toes but not so much that they bunch up in your shoes. Too soon to tell how well they wear but so far so good.

Perfect cotton crew socks
I actually bought these for myself, a female, with shoe size 7 1/2. The medium is fine. I can no longer find socks like these for women.
Lands End - please bring back the BROWN ones.

Not The Best Quality
These socks, although very nice when I bought them, have worn out within three months of purchase. I have not worn these routinely in that time so I'm at a loss how these could have holes in them so quickly. I would not recommend these. Stop by your local bargain basement and save yourself a few bucks. Very disappointing.

Quality went downhill
The old socks were excellent. These are thin and shrink too much. Plus they increased the price by offering two socks for what the three pack used to cost.

Quality that is hard to beat
You can find cheaper socks at the department stores, but you will not find quality like this....I can always count on Lands-End to have the best quality for the price.

Thinner material, looser fit, and higher price than previous socks
Black cotton crew socks from LE have been a staple in our home for years now. I ordered these new ones when a LE customer rep assured me that these are the new and improved version of the ones I have loved for years. Well - these are worse in almost every way: thinner material, not as soft, less cotton, ill-fitting, and more expensive! (The ones last year and years before came in a 3-pack for about the same price as these 2-packs!) I must echo other reviewers saying many LE items seem to have become poorly made with inconsistent sizing lately. High quality, reliable basics is what I used to come to LE for - now I will have to start looking elsewhere.
