The XL Tall fit my husband perfectly. It was also a great value.
It is the perfect material for a cold, wet and windy Wisconsin Spring! The just-right combination of colors enhances a 'lite feeling' while facing the inclement weather. It is a great jacket between seasons that is otherwise difficult to find in regular department stores.

Perfect Jacket with elastic
My husband prefers jackets with elastic in the sleeves and waist. It fits perfect. It is warm and we also love the colors. It is also waterproof. I had searched stores for a jacket like this and found this on an email from Land's End. We love the product.

At least 10 years old and still going strong
About 10 years ago I bought a new Squall jacket to replace one that had torn in a fall. I didn't like any of the colors that were offered in women's sizing and while perusing the sale site one day, I discovered a very pretty pale blue jacket, exactly what I wanted - only it was a men's size and a greatly reduced price. I ordered it and it fit fine (I'm 5'10" with a big frame).
It has been worn and washed and worn and washed some more and still looks as good as the day I took it out of the package. It is absolutely wind proof and with the Polartec 300 insulation, very warm. If I need more warmth, I wear a fleece vest under it.
It is one of the best Lands' End products I have ever owned. I expect to wear it for many more Upstate NY winters.

I had always had good experiences with Lands End and its products, until now
I have owned MANY Squall Jackets over the years. In particular, I owned a black/grey squall jacket which provided me years of good service. It was warm, comfortable, and versatile. However, while the jacket had lots of wear left in it, the knit waistband had lost its elasticity, so I returned it for exchange, in keeping with the generous Lands End Guaranteed Period policy.
I just received the replacement jacket today. The replacement jacket is not in any way comparable to the original jacket in overall quality. Although it fits well, it is lighter, noisier, and most definitely not as warm. I will not speculate as to the motivation of Lands End in reducing the quality of the jacket, but it is obvious and quite disappointing. I almost wish I had not returned the original jacket. I do have another of the original quality squalls. And if that one loses its snap, I'll have the waistband replaced by a local tailor rather than return it for a lesser quality replacement.
If I had paid full price for this new one, it would have gone right back.

DISSAPPOINTED
I HAD PURCHASED THIS JACKET BASED UPON THE ONE I HAD PURCHASED A FEW YEARS EARLIER.
THIS IS NOT THE SAME QUALITY. IT IS NOISIER, THE CUFFS AT THE WRISTS ARE LOOSER, THE COLLAR IS NOT THE SAME, IT FEELS AND SOUNDS LIKE THERE IS A PLASTIC LINER IN THE SLEEVES, THE INNER POCKETS ARE DIFFERENT, AND IT IS MADE IN VIETNAM. I WILL NOT PURCHASE THIS ITEM AGAIN.

Great Jacket
I've had 3; lost the first one, wore out the second, and I'm wearing the third. I have one minor complaint. Mine have all had two inside pockets. The larger, "upper" pocket on the first two was zippered. The new one is a velcro closer. It is always seems to be closed. It is harder to get things in and out with only one hand. I much prefer the zipper.

Good jacket, cheap zippers
I have had two Squall jackets. I liked them very much, but in each case, the flimsy zipper died while there was still a lot of wear left in the jacket.

Great jacket ....but, there is one factor that is not
Years ago everybody got this jacket as a gift from the company I worked for. I was impressed with the quality of the jacket and how warm it would keep me running from car to building or the odd task outside. When the old jacket was showing its age, I ordered a new one myself. the fit was exactly the same, but it didn't quite keep me as warm as before. When I pulled the old jacket out, I discovered the original jacket was made with Polartec. The new jacket was made with a product called Thermacheck. There is also a difference in the actual thickness of the jacket. For this one reason, which for me is a big one, I have to deduct 1 star for quality which has gone down hill in search of higher profits margins. However, if you wear a little something extra underneath, then it should be fine. I would also have to say the temperature rating on this needs to be a little correct as it is not the jacket you want when it is really cold outside. I old won still beats this new one hands down in that department. I sometimes work outside with work and the original jacket never let me down. The new one needs some planning on those really cold days.

This version is not as good as previous versions.
The material feels cheap and there are not as many pockets as there were in the Squall jacket I had purchased a little over a year ago. At $94.00 it definitely is not the value it once was.

Not Very Warm
I owned a squall jacket many years ago and loved it. It was warm and comfortable into the low 20's. This jacket doesn't compare. I don't know how the tempreature ranges are determined, but the jacket is not warm unless you are very active in it. The shoulders and arms have little to no insulation, and the cold comes right through them. The jacket would have been perfect if the fleece had lined the entire inside of the jacket.
