Solid Construction
Bought this for my 7 year old in the fall after the her (new) backpack fell apart. Six months later it still looks brand new. She loves it. It holds everything she needs - inside shoes, planner, library books, a change of clothes, and even her snowpants, but isn't uncomfortably big. She likes that it has the colour of the rainbow. The zippers are good quality.

Great backpack - great price!
I had to buy a backpack in the middle of the school year because the $50 backpack I bought at the brand-name store had fallen apart. I was looking for a bargain and found one here. Wasn't expecting it to be such a great backpack. My kindergartner loves it. It is big for a kindergartner - but not too big. Lots of great features. Seems very durable - I expect it to last much longer than the last one. And very cute design!

difficulty to put things in and take things out
I bought this backpack for my daughter that was starting Pre-1A, despite its large size, because she loved the look. If you look closely, you see that the zipper is on the front of the large pocket, and does not zip all the way down. This makes it extremely difficult to put in folders, binders, notebooks, etc, as you're not putting it in from the TOP, but rather from the front, and need to angle it in. I don't see how a laptop computer would get into the laptop sleeve, because the angle is just too sharp. It always feels like a fight getting things in and out. When I wanted to write my daughter's name in the backpack, I had to flip the whole top over itself to reach the name label (which I couldn't find at first). Not impressed at all. Last year's backpacks were much better designed. (2 of 2 good last year, 0 of 2 good this year.)

This backpack has more features than you can actually see from the photo. There is a little bottom compartment which would be ideal for xtra stuff.
High quality design, will last for a long time.

not what we expected
My daughter is going into 4th grade and I really feel like this backpack is going to be too small for her with all the books she comes home with. The inside does not have much room at all. I think it would be okay for k-2 grade... maybe 3rd, that is just my opinion, each school is different and has a different work load for the students... my kids have lots of homework and bring home lots of books. Can't return it because I monogramed it! The design is cute, although it does look better in the picture.

cute design, weird dye job
I saw this and loved it immediately - and fortunately, my 1st grade daughter agreed (and mothers of daughters know what a huge feat that is!). However, I was disapointed when it arrvied yesterday. The colors of the stripes are not "clean" - they have a weird color gradation (sp?) within the stripes that looks like the dye got messed up (it's hard to explain - within each of the stripes, it is like there is a water color pattern within them).. I was going to send it back, figuring I got a messed up one, but I zoomed in on the image online and realized that it's actually part of the design. LandsEnd fail - why do such a cute, punchy, modern design and then mess with it by blending the colors in a way that looks like a printing flaw? You can't tell from a distance, but you do see the funny colors if you get up close. The backpack is still cute, it's just not exactly what I expected.
