Kids' Wolves MadBox? 2-piece Lunch Box 3 5 7 7
Ice pack cover cracked and torn after 6 months. We loved the design of the lunchbox we got from the line ( different pattern, we got the one with flags), but after just 6 months the ice pack cover with velcro that fastens to the inside of the lunchbox has ripped in several places. It's now unusable, and the main point for me was that it stayed right where I velcroed it, around the drink and other cold items. It was way too expensive for just six months of use. And I can't even find a replacement cover on the website. Very disappointed. February 28, 2013
too small; hard to keep clean Very difficult to keep the inside clean because of the velcro that goes around the inside (meant to keep the ice pack in place) - crumbs, etc. get caught on the underside of the velcro. Also, after just a two months, the inside lining has cracked in the corners. It is also very small; the ice pack is too big for the size of the bag. January 11, 2013
Very Disappointed I loved the theory of this lunchbox and have held off on writing a review until I could see how well it held up. Though the outside of the lunchbox still looks brand new I have several issues. The first is that it doesn't hold very much even without the icepack. I use plastic containers for snacks and when you put a regular sized watr bottle with one small snack container, a sandwich and side for the lunch with the icepack it is jam packed. Once a week I need to pack two snacks (one for an after school club) and I can't fit it in the lunchbox. The second issue is the cover for the ice pack. It cracked on the second week of school. Also, you need to freeze the pack in the "shape" you will be putting it in the lunchbox. I accidentally froze it flat one day and was not able to contour it to the interior of the lunchbox. I see that the price has dropped from the $35 I paid to $14.99 which somewhat angers me since this was NO value at $35 and I'll need to replace it before the end of the year. I do not recommned this product at any price. November 29, 2012
Great Value The first lunch box i purchased lasted three years. The only reason I purchased a new one was because of the ice pack issues. This lunch box is very sturdy. Even without the ice back in the velcro strip helps keep his thermos from rolling and crushing his chips or cookies -- which he complained about. I would purchase this lunch box again. I just wish they had more options for boys. September 29, 2012
Seems sturdy but large ice pack limits size and lack of exterior water bottle holder is a problem. This lunch box is well made and I'm sure will hold up well. But a few changes from previous years' models are unfortunate. There's no exterior holder for a water bottle which, given the introduction of a new large, wrap-around ice pack means there's nowhere at all to store a water bottle. The ice pack that comes with lunchbox is huge and takes up valuable space. In fact, the ice pack itself, once frozen, is too big to fit into the insulated sleeve that velcros into the side of the lunch box. I had to trim two sections off of it with scissors, only to find that once I put the cold packs in the lunch boxes, my kids' lunches wouldn't fit inside. In addition, the mesh pocket inside the lid where I would secure an ice pack in previous models used to be a single space, but now it is stitched with pencil/utensil holders. So now only a very small ice pack will fit. I'm considering trying to remove one row of stitches so I can fit a reasonably sized ice pack into the lid. All around, kind of a disappointment. These lunch boxes use to be so great. Lesson learned: If it's not broken, don't fix it. September 2, 2012
This MadBox works as advertised. Keeps Part of Lunch Cold, Rest of Lunch is Room Temperature I had my doubts about whether this MadBox lunch box would work or not. My son likes his drink cold, but doesn't like his peanut butter sandwich cold. In the past, he has bought his drink in the cafeteria. During Summer Camp, we used 2 different lunch boxes. I knew when school started, we would be limited to one lunchbox. I ordered this and crossed my fingers. The ice pack does keep the items inside the ice pack cold and anything outside the ice pack is regular temperature. The ice pack includes Rubbermaid blue ice packs. I took them out of the zipper ice pack and put them in the freezer. When packing the lunch, I put the blue ice packs inside the zipper ice pack, used the velcro strips on the inside of the lunchbox to place the ice pack around the drink and "Voila" works perfectly. Son is very happy and I am not paying lunchroom prices for a drink every day. Even though it is an expensive lunch box, it will pay for itself within 2 months with the money I'm saving by sending his drink with his lunch. August 21, 2012
So far, really good. I was upset when I saw that the hard-sided lunch box from last year wasn't back but I'm glad we ordered this. We're only on day 3 of use but so far we are happy. It's slim but yet very roomy. A sandwich, fruit, drink, yogurt, and snack fit in there with no squeezing, and the velcroed-in cold pack provides cool without bulk. My son doesn't find it cumbersome to carry and really likes the wolves. August 7, 2012
