Disappointed!!
After purchasing LE backpacks for years, this one was a complete disappointment. Previous years' bags are still holding up for vacations, day trips, etc. This one did not even make it through the school year. Zipper fobs broke within the first month and I overlooked it. Then elastic straps went next. Now the plastic buckles cracked and broke making it completely unuseable. My son is in 2nd grade and is driven to/from school. This backpack does NOT take a lot of punishment. The quality in design and materials is simply not there. LE please bring back your quality control.

Perfect!
I bought this backpack for my son who is in first grade. Bag has tons of great details that make this perfect. Padding inside to protect his back from books, two zipper hooks for ease of use, padded straps, and tons of pockets. The colors are better than pictured, they are bright and the bag looks great. I had his bag monogrammed because I got such a great deal and the celadon green looks fantastic. So happy I bought this! Cannot beat this for the price.

We love it
I got this backpack for my first grader and he loves it. The color is exactly the same as on the website. It's big, very well made and the padding on the back makes it comfortable to carry it around. I've seen so many flimsily made brand name backpack but we always come back to Lands End. Great quality!

Love it, great bag!
I purchased this for my 10 year old son and he loves it. The quality is fantastic, and the colors are just as shown. It truly is 'FeatherLight' and the adjustable chest strap (which is removable) is great as he can be 'hands free' and not worry about the bag falling off his shoulders. He took the bag to a 3 day overnight school camp. He used it every day to carry his things on long walks up and down the beach and into town. He exposed it to wind, rain, sand, dirt, and who knows what else. It came home a bit wet but dried quickly. Still looks new! There is plenty of room in the compartments for everything, plus the 2 drink bottle holders, the external elastic cord, and the handle on top are great features. Well done LE for making this great bag!

Best back pack ever
This really is worth the money. We have never had a backpack of such good quality, the design is excellent and well thought out. Lots of strong and spacious pockets, nice wide comfy straps, and my fave is the covered foam separator stiched inside the main compartment (surprise!!) that means you can slip a lunch bag (or shoes or whatever) in and out without mushing the books or papers in the back section. I hope it's as durable as it is well-designed.

Nice back pack
Expensive to ship to Canada, but great school bag. Keeps school notebooks flat and not dog eared like our last draw string type back pack. Big enough too for my 7 yr old's lunch box. My only disappointment was that one of the zipper toggles broke off on day 1 of use. Too inconvenient to ship back, so ended up tying it back on. Best feature is the sternum strap--these are infrequently found on school bags in my experience.

I love the colors!
The backpack fits my 10 year old perfectly. He is able to put his books and lunch inside with room to spare. He absolutely loves the design of the bag.

Really nice product
We bought this backpack for our 3rd grader because his first Lands End backpack (purchased in K and used through 2nd grade) was really too small for his body. We also knew this year he would be having to take more stuff than just a folder, lunch box, and couple of library books to and from school.
I like a lot of things about this backpack - the padded straps, the water bottle holders on the sides, and the smaller zipper compartment on the outside. My husband likes the adjustable straps on the side and the bungee strap on the back.
The laptop sleeve isn't necessary for us (since he's only in 3rd grade, after all) and takes up a bit of space that 1.5" binder (2.25" spine) could better use. However, he's been able to put items (library books, etc.) in the laptop sleeve and still make use of the space. We can usually get his Lands End lunch box inside the backpack, but if not, it clips onto the outside handle. We easily fit his pencil box in the very outside (nonzipped) pocket on the first day of school.
My son loves the colors & pixelated design. I am happy if he is happy!

WOW!
What a great product! All the features that we wished for the year before are there in this year's pack. Now the older brother is jealous because he has the outdated backpack. The elastic on the outside is improved and will hold snow pants, and there is a new pocket in the large compartment so that the "take-home" folder does not get bent, etc. Well done, Lands' End!!
