For the perfect Adirondack Chair we went to the source, finding a company that’s been crafting them right in the Adirondack Region for 35 years. Starting as a family woodworking business in Vermont in the late 1800s, the business is now in New York State, still family owned, and still following the same philosophies they have for more than 100 years.
Each chair is made with hand selected red maple sourced from sustainably managed local forests. The wood is kiln-dried to a moisture content between 6 to 8 percent — the optimal level for working wood — and during production the shop is kept at a constant relative humidity to keep the wood stable. Each piece of the final chair is carefully milled, then primed and painted three times — with sanding between each step for unsurpassed smoothness. And the paint is high quality exterior acrylic by Sherwin Williams® , so you can easily fix chips or perform touch-ups with paint that matches exactly. The assembly instructions even give you the exact paint style number to order.
