Lands End is color blind.
The hammock stand seems sturdy and it's heavy weight (it's also huge). It's easy to put together, I did it by myself. No tools are needed. I'm happy about all of that but I was not happy that the hammock stand is not bronze as it's described on the website. It's more of an almond color, bronze would be a much better color.
Lands End needs to either change the description or ship a hammock stand that is actually bronze.

NOT THE COLOR SHOWN
Impulse buy while Lands End was having one of their annual sales - arrived quickly - seems to be a good quality tubular steel however the color is light khaki not bronze (as described) or black (as photographed) - haven't assembled yet debating whether to keep it or not knowing that rust maintenance will be more difficult with the lighter color - called Lands End who couldn't explain why the stand is that color and was unwilling to discount the purchase more but was willing to cover the return shipping expense. ???

Hammock stand
Love it just like the Hammock. It is essential for maximum comfort. The hammock stretches out when you sit in it because it tightens up after not being used for a while. I just wish the stand was powder coated, since it will rust if left outside to get wet. Storage is a problem for me. But even so, I highly recommend both of these products. It would be nice if they made a canvas shade for over the hammock that would attach to the stand. And in a perfect world, a wench to tighten it up. It could be difficult for someone to use if they have weak hands.
