The tray is woven seagrass shaped around a strong metal frame. Seagrass is an ocean plant that grows in light-rich shallows. When harvested, plaited and woven, it dries as a lightweight, rigid — and easily renewable — wood substitute. It's so strong, we even use it for furniture. Wipe clean with damp cloth. Imported. The seagrass is a natural material and there may be slight color variations within a piece. Medium: 14"Lx10"Wx4"H (plus 2" handles). Large: 16"Lx12"Wx5"H (plus 2" handles)

Fabulous!
I ordered 12 to completely organize my newly renovated laundry room. They are absolutely excellent, hold a large number of items each, do not have any areas where the surface is rough and arrived in very good time with the usual Lands End free shipping and fabulous packaging. I would highly recommend these to anyone who needs to re-group or organize shelves, cupboards, closets, etc. I am going to order more!

This basket is the perfect catch all!
I bought one basket to see if it would work to help organize our paper clutter. It works! I am ordering two more, one for my husband's miscellaneous papers and one for magazines/catalogs. The medium size fits these items; the workmanship is well done and looks great.

Taller than 5 inches
The basket itself is 5" high - but the metal handle is another couple inches. Would have been nice to have accurate dimensions - doesn't fit in cubbies so all 3 are going back!

didn't like
mine was poorly made. one side of handle was disconnected (have not used it for anything!) Not worth the cost to return.

nice sturdy tray
I recently went to a resort where they served poolside meals in a tray like this. I saw this in the catalog and thought it would be similar. It is very well-made with a strong frame and sturdy handles. I plan to use it to serve drinks and treats on my deck. It feels like it will hold up very well.

Well made, good size
This is handy for storing many things and it should last a long time. I can never have too many of these.
