Super practical
I bought these mittens for my daughter as a replacement for her beloved Helly Hansens which she has outgrown. They match her new LE squall coat perfectly. I thought no one could beat the HH mitts but these do, for practicality and price! The zipper pocket for heat packs is a stroke of genius and there are myriad ways to tighten, snowproof and secure. The tough palm fabric is great for traction and durability. These will be put to the test in the cold Quebec climate but as far as I can see they have all the insulation of her old HH mitts which were toasty. She's a small 10 year old and I ordered her a size L which will fit for a good few years (amortized they will cost $7 a year!) and they also fit Mum's 6 3/4 inch hand (bottom of hand to top of middle finger) so with a sale this good, I think I'll be getting some too! Seriously LE, it is so great to find a company which actually makes things well and which are priced within the realm of reality.

2nd Pair
Purchased a white pair last year but did not have the opportunity to use them because we did not have the normal snow falling or a harsh winter; she outgrew them. Purchased these to go with her coat and hopefully she will be able to play in the snow; if not, they become the mittens that go on top of the gloves for added warmth if necessary.

Very tough mittens!
Great mittens! Seems to fit nice, easy to put on and covers more than just their hands.

Not waterproof, but otherwise a good mitt
My daughter loves them too much to send back. They got wet very quickly but that didn't stop her. Otherwise a great mitt, good features and fit. Nice with the reflective strip on them. Good for dry cold conditions and skiing.

Very disappointed these are not waterproof.
First, the good thing about these mittens - along with our Lands End Jacket with the fleece cuff that fits over the the thumb, the snow stays out.
However, I bought them because they were advertised as waterproof. They performed okay the first few wears. Now, they may as well be yarn knit mittens. And once wet, they do not dry. Last night I left them on the heating vent and they were not only still wet this morning, but mildewy as well.

Runs big
Quality is great. But I had to return for a smaller size in spite of the fact that I used the Lands' End size chart and measured my daughter's hands as instructed.

NOT WATERPROOF
I plan to return the two pairs of these mittens I purchased for my children. The mittens are not waterproof at all. 30 minutes in the snow and the kids came in with soaking wet mittens. Not as promised.

The usual "everything runs big"
I am a fan of lands end kids gear. Great bang for the buck. As usual, don't pay attention to the listed measurement guides. Based on their measurements, my daughter should wear a medium. My gut told me to buy the small. Did I? No....so back they went. Needed the small after all.
Nice mittens, warm and partially waterproof.

Good snow gloves, wish there was more "wrist protection" from the snow
We just got these, and have only worn them once or twice, but here's hoping they work out! I ordered X-Small for my 2 1/2 year old and I think my 4 1/2 year old has Small. I am a little worried snow will get in at the wrist...we'll try putting gloves on, then forcing hands through sleeves of snow jacket to eliminate any "gaps" (oh, what fun it is to dress kids for the snow...ugg!). But the girls seem to like the mittens so far!

Cute, but Big
These are cute and warm, but run really big. I had to return the small size for an extra small for my 3 1/2 year old.
