Just received 2 of these... My older daughter wears a size 8 in most clothes so I ordered her a 10/12 in this jacket to get her through the rest of this winter and next. My little one wears a size 3T or 4T and I ordered her a 5/6 to get her through the same time period. First, they run SMALL. On my older daughter, I think I will be lucky to get her through all of next winter in the 10/12. In a long-sleeved T-shirt, I wondered if I would be able to zip it all the way up (I was able to with ease but do have some concerns about how the jacket will fit once she is layered properly for playing outside. The 5/6 is sufficiently big on my little one and should be fine for next winter. Lands End your sizing has been WAY off this season. LE has always been my "go to place" for winter gear but I'm beginning to worry about your sizing and quality going forward. I just hope these jackets turn out to be as warm as they are rated, as we are going skiing next weekend. March 2, 2013
We love this jacket all winter! This jacket has seen us right through the worst of a MN winter. I have a slender 7 year-old and I bought it in a M(10-12) intending to use it the next year, but when I had her try it on, she wouldn't give it up! It fits loose, of course, but still looks neat on her. She doesn't use the thumb-holes, but the extended fleece material at the wrist is very nice! We love this jacket, and find it to be plenty warm for winter wear with the benefit of a sleek line and less uncomfortable bulk! She will probably wear it next year, too! February 2, 2013
Not quite warm enough for us My daughter really likes the color (she chose the blue), fit and style of this coat. She found it not warm enough when the temperatures dipped into the 20's. Even with a sweater, she was a little too cold. I think this is because the sleeves do not have the lining that is in the body of the coat. She now wears it with a fleece jacket underneath and it is ok. If you're in a more temperate climate or if your child is not outdoors for long, this would probably work well for you. I'm wishing we purchased the 3-in-1 jacket instead. I went by the temperature rating and thought we'd be ok. January 28, 2011
Superb quality but too tapered. The pink bloom color was beautiful and the si'ver-gray trim made it look current. However, I found the fit to be very different from the Squall Jacket we purchased last year. We purchased a Big Girls Large which was narrower than the Medium from last year. I have chosen Land's End because the cut of the girls clothing was more traditional than can be found in most stores. The jacket was hour glass-shaped instead of straight. We will return it and try to next size up because it is such a cute coat. January 18, 2011
Love, love, love this jacket. I bought this jacket because my daughter needed a good coat for winter vacation in NYC. This jacket was amazing. It kept her warm and without all the bulk. It's thin, but in a good way. Putting her in her carseat with her jacket on is NOT an ordeal! I am purchasing another jacket for her next year! Highly recommend! January 14, 2011
