Needs hemming Bought this for my tall & slender 6 year old who normally wears a size 8. I ordered size 8 and it fits fine. The crotch does seem wide enough. I only wish it was hemmed. It would look more polished that way. April 30, 2013
Cute and Covers! I didn't have a sizing problem with this swim skirt. My almost 7 year old wears a 6/7 in street shorts/pants and the size 7 swim skirt fit fine although she could probably wear the size 6 comfortably, too. The external stitching on the panty part (as previous reviews have mentioned) is essential in keeping the child comfortable. It doesn't bother me how the stitching looks because my daughter should not be flashing the panty lining (I hope!). The panty covers everything well; not too thin in the crotch and covers her bottom well. The skirt makes it feminine, especially since I have her wearing the long sleeve rash guard with it (which is not as feminine, but is great sun protection!). Can't speak yet on the color fading, but that isn't so important to me. I don't know many fabric colors that can stand up to a summer full of sun and chlorine! April 28, 2013
Love them except fades and stretches fast. My daughter will not wear one-pieces, bikini bottoms or swim shorts, so these are perfect. We can't find swim skirts for girls anywhere else. Not only are these skirts, they also provide more coverage than shorts (slightly longer). My daughters have swimming lessons once a week and I always hand wash with a mild soap afterwards to get the chlorine out and line dry them. But even then, these will fade, stretch out and get thin after a few wears. Good thing kids grow fast because these would not hold up for more than one season. I usually hand down clothes from my older to younger, but these could never be handed down because they wear out so fast. Despite the quality issues, I still give it a 4 rating because it's cute and it's a skirt that actually gives some coverage. April 28, 2013
Skirt is not hemmed - completely disappointed in Land's End! The skirt of the Swim Mini's aren't hemmed. When I called customer service, they stated that "it is just the style this year." It looks unfinished and uneven. I am very disappointed in Land's End. To save a few bucks, they reduced the quality of the finished product. I always purchase Land's End bathing suits for my children because of the quality. I will be rethinking that decision now. April 26, 2013
Wide and VERY low rise. The fit on this swim bottom is very disappointing. I bought a size 5 top and swim skirt for my 4 year old daughter who is right in the middle of the size range measurements. The top is long and very narrow and the bottom is very wide and barely pulls up over her bottom. The two pieces in the same size would not fit the same child! I love the style and color, but just can't believe the fit is really what Land's End intended. Such a low rise bottom is not really appropriate for this age of child. I wont be buying swimwear from Land's End until they change the bottom fit - or provide a higher coverage option. April 26, 2013
Skirt is not hemmed. The skirt of this is not hemmed. I used to work in a fabrics store, so I understand that the fabric isn't going to fray. But I am concerned that it will get a run in it from an active child wearing it in pools and sprinklers over the summer. It's not worth returning it, but I won't buy another one unless it's hemmed. It doesn't look good unhemmed either. April 18, 2013
Still Disappointed in This Swim Bottom! For the last couple years I have been disappointed in this swim bottom! I was hoping this year they would've listened to the customers and changed the length of this back to the original length from 3-4 years ago! They just keep getting skimpier! The curent 4T is 1 INCH shorter than the PREVIOUS 3T!! You are supposed to ADD fabric as they get older! I loved how modest they USED TO BE! I used to buy these 2-3 at a time so I would always have one... I will NOT BUY these again this year! I am going to have to find a different source for our little girl's suits! April 15, 2013
a basic swim skirt Skirt fit fine. Could not find a top to fit my tall and thin daughter this year, so the skirt went back. I was surprised to see that the bottom edge of the skirt had no hem. It just looks like cut material - almost looks "unfinished". Previous models had a ruffle or hem at the bottom. April 13, 2013
Fits great & Looks cute too! My daughter wore this swim mini with the coordinating striped tankini top. I love how it fits her and wears well too. We took the swimsuit to Florida for spring break and it got a work out! April 6, 2013
Poor Quality This swim mini didn't last one season. The material stretched and became incredibly thin. You could actually see through the material. Had to throw it away. March 27, 2013
