Simple and great dress with modern fit
Let's start with the fact that both of my girls like this dress. A lot. With leggings. And bike shorts. They are wearing these on their flight to Florida because they are so comfy. I try to find clothes that play with them and then clean up well for another round of play. This dress as well as the heart leggings shown in the picture with the red dress, do just that. They wash and dry well (although we hang dry most clothing) and look like new after a month. We also shop at HA and they have updated their playdress style, too. Styles change, times change. (Think faded light blue Mom Jeans vs. a nice mid-rise straight fit, dark wash.) If Lands End didn't change with them, I wouldn't shop here anymore. This dress is certainly not "immodest" as others have indicated. How can a little girl play on the playground in a dress hanging below her knees? How can she go up stairs at school without worrying about tripping on the hem? The material is perfect for spring and summer outdoors! It is not super thin cotton and a five year old does not need another layer under it for "modesty". Put some leggings on with this dress and let them go outside to have fun without worrying so much about their bodies.

a fun, comfortable dress but the sizing is OFF
My daughter absolutely loves this style of dress, we have some from last year, some from the winter... it is comfortable, colorful, nice soft material, it washes well and is flattering. So why not a perfect score? Because I cannot get the size of this right. I got a M in the T-shirts and all of those fit fine. I got a M in this dress and it is really hanging off my girl. Since it costs too much to return (I live overseas) I had to take it to a seamstress to take it in (which cost about as much as the dress) because my daughter did not want to wait til next year to wear it. I think it would have been strange, however, to get a S in this, which is what she had last year and those dresses are a bit tight on her. So either the sizing is off OR there is no in-between size for this dress and there should be-- indeed I find it VERY strange that LE has 7-8 and then 10-12, I think that is a HUGE gap for growing kids! Whatever happened to 8-9 or 9-10???? Again, for the T-shirts this was not a problem (and we got several) but fort his dress, it sure is.

Super cute dress
My 7 year old loves Lands End knit dresses since they are comfortable and work great for school with a pair of tights or shorts.. I got this one in a size 14 and it fits to size unlike the previous Lands End style which tended to run big on her. The colors are really bright and attractive. The fabric has been wearing well and washing up nicely.

Love the look of the dress but quality is poor.
I bought these dresses in blue and purple but returned them when the colors faded terribly after one wash. My girls loved the dresses so much, and I loved them too so I thought I'd try them in a print. I was hoping that the print fabric would hold up much better. Now after maybe wearing them 3 times the stitching is giving at the collar on one of the dresses. I'm so disappointed because these are great dresses to wear for the summer and look so cute on. We still have last year's Lands End dresses and they have held up so much better than these new ones. It's so disappointing that Land's End let the quality go down like that.

So Disappointed
Like many others, I've bought Lands End knit dresses for my daughter for years. They have always been her favourite summer outfits.
So disappointed in this dress on a number of levels.
1. We chose what looked like a pretty pink floral, The colours of the dress that we received were nothing like those pictured on the website. My daughter took one look at the colours and told me to send it back. I encouraged her to try it on - it looked horribly fluorescent and I agreed to send it back.
2. The position of the waistline on these A line dresses does not sit comfortable at a normal waist. Just looked wrong on her.
3. The fabric is so much thinner than previous years and the tank dresses that I've bought in the same fabric don't wash anywhere near as well as dresses from previous years.
Being an international buyer, the postage costs are quite steep and I can't afford to purchase and pay this postage if I cannot be confident of the quality of the items.
PLEASE bring back the old style and fabric!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please Bring Back The Previous Style!
My ten year old daughter truly misses the former dress style. We always ordered two or three of those comfortable dresses each season. While the prints are still cute, the new style is shorter, has a looser neckline and is cut closer to the body. My daughter also does not prefer the seam placement of the new dress, which sits lower than the former empire seam. Please bring back your previous style!

I have ordered Lands End dresses for my grand daughters before and had been pleased with them, but these were not as nice.
The quality of the last four dresses is not any where as nice as others I have ordered. I am very disappointed in these.
Flimsy material and the pockets don't lay flat. Have to iron them to make them look decent.

Cute Dress, but slim fit
My daughter has been wearing Lands End dresses since she could walk, and every year we purchase a couple more. This dress should be so cute, but my daughter is thick around the waist, and these dresses are cut much slimmer than the dresses in the past. I suppose this gives them a more "modern", older look, but it means my 8 year old can't wear them - the material just bunches up over her hips. Too bad, because they are really pretty dresses. If you have a slim, longer-waisted child, I think they'd be adorable. 3 Stars given because we can't wear it.

Hard to fit
I have a non-verbal autistic little girl, she is long wasted and extremely hard to fit. I bought this dress several skorts and shirts for her. She loves them all and they fit perfectly even after they were washed. Her teachers said she is stemming less and is much happier with her clothes. I will definitely be buying all her clothing from here from now on.
