Simple and great dress with modern fit
Let's start with the fact that both of my girls like this dress. A lot. With leggings. And bike shorts. They are wearing these on their flight to Florida because they are so comfy. I try to find clothes that play with them and then clean up well for another round of play. This dress as well as the heart leggings shown in the picture with the red dress, do just that. They wash and dry well (although we hang dry most clothing) and look like new after a month. We also shop at HA and they have updated their playdress style, too. Styles change, times change. (Think faded light blue Mom Jeans vs. a nice mid-rise straight fit, dark wash.) If Lands End didn't change with them, I wouldn't shop here anymore. This dress is certainly not "immodest" as others have indicated. How can a little girl play on the playground in a dress hanging below her knees? How can she go up stairs at school without worrying about tripping on the hem? The material is perfect for spring and summer outdoors! It is not super thin cotton and a five year old does not need another layer under it for "modesty". Put some leggings on with this dress and let them go outside to have fun without worrying so much about their bodies.

very disappointed in this dress
For years I have bought Land's End dresses for my little girl. The dresses then get handed down to my sister's girls who wear them as well.
In the closet are 3 dresses:1) size 16 - too big 2) size 16 - just fits 3) size 14 plus - way too big.
Going by the way the 14+ fit, I ordered the reg 14. However, it's too tight in the chest, the armholes are too small, and it's too tight in the tummy.
We both like the print of the dress. The fabric, though thinner than the past, isn't bad. Don't like the cut of this dress at all. Please keep the print but go back to the old style.
Rather disappointed in the dress. Needless to say, so was my little girl who loves her 'comfy' dresses.

Beautiful, flattering fit
This is a great spring and summer dress. We bought the size small for my 7 year-old who is 49" tall. She will wear it for a long time. We bought the big neon floral and liked it so much, we got the dark coral butterfly print, too. I wish there were more cool and modern prints for this style dress! It's a more modern fit, but could use some updated prints.

Cute play dress
My daughter is not a "dress" girl. I bought this for her for church, and she loves it. It is soft and comfy for her, and dressy enough for me. It washes up beautifully, and we are both very pleased with it.

I want this, too!
Just a very cute, simple dress. So easy to slip on and off as a cover up (over bathing suits and leotards) or on its own. Soft material and cute pattern. My girls love this dress and I wish that I could find it in my size, too. I found myself wondering how high above my knee a girls L or XL would sit. Light material and perfect for warm spring and summer days outside. Haven't had it very long yet, but is holding up well (color and softness) after initial washings.

Disappointed.
For years, my twins have worn and enjoyed Lands' End dresses. Every spring and fall, I purchase the same dress in different colors. The quality has always been top-notch...until now. I ordered three of these dresses for spring. The fabric is thinner and less-substantial. The neck holes are larger and cause bra straps to be visible. The dresses are shorter, too. By the end of the season, my long-legged daughters will have to wear bike shorts underneath.
Please bring back the old style. I miss the quality of the fabric. Also, there are still some of us mothers who want our daughters wear modest clothing. This style seems one step in the wrong direction.

I miss the old girls' dresses!
I have bought Lands' End knit dresses for my girls for many years and have loved them for their modest design, modest length, comfortable (not form-fitting) style, and high-quality fabric that stands up to hard play and hundreds of washings. You can't find dresses like that anywhere else. This new style of dress is not the same! The style is more form-fitting, the neckline much wider and looser, the length is shortened by several inches, and the fabric is much thinner. I bought these new ones out of desperation because my daughter needed new dresses, but I am very disappointed in the fit and the fabric. PLEASE bring back the old style and the old fabric, and please don't lower the quality of your products like every other company is doing! I for one would pay a higher price for better quality, and I'm sure I'm not alone. But if I'm not going to get better quality products from Lands' End, then I might as well buy the cheap stuff at Walmart.

These dresses are perfect for spring
My daughter is 51 pounds and 51" and this dress in size 7 fits her perfectly. It has a lovely drape with just enough shape to make it interesting, but plenty of room for play and comfort. The material is soft and the colors are beautiful. I ordered the dress in 4 of the 5 patterns available. These dresses will be worn just about every day throughout the spring.

Love this dress!
The cut of this dress is great for the "older" girls. Very girly prints and super soft cotton. This is great with some capri leggings for school!
