Excellent Shoe
My daughter literally eats her shoes, and this one lasted 3 months, the longest any shoe has ever lasted with her. The fit was perfect, I did not find it too narrow at all, and she loved choosing from so many colors!

Not as Sturdy as Old Model Mary Jane
We loved the old model with the reinforced toe. This new mary jane shoe is much more dainty. The trim around the ankle was already not well sewn when my first pair arrived; we exchanged that at Sears. Now two days after wearing the second pair, the trim around the ankle is beginning to fray. It's just not as good quality as the old mary jane - please bring that back.

Prefer Old Style
I have bought these shoes for years. The lack of rubber toe guard caused the patent on these shoes to rub off in a few weeks with normal wear. They now look shoddy. They should be called "party" shoes only, not "party and play" shoes. Much preferred the older style and will probably not purchase this style again.

great shoes
I buy a version of these shoes in multiple colors every year. They go with every thing from jeans to dresses. My only wish is for a reinforced toe, as my daughter plays on her knees often and the toes get
scuffed up. This year's version is a little dressier - I happen to prefer the wider strap for play, but my daughter loves these. A definite good buy.

These shoes can take a beating
I bought these shoes in the black patent leather a year ago for my granddaughter. On day one she wore them to the park. While I had thought they would be for dress, they were and continue to be her favorite, go to shoes. She has big, fairly wide feet. I bought a 12 W thinking they'd be too big. They weren't. They do run narrow as others have said. Late last fall I ordered a pair of 1W because there was no 13W. They were way too big, but her folks put them aside. I have watched all winter for LE to make a 13W in the black patent shoe but they never have. My granddaughter really needs to get out of the 12 W but I don't want suede. She is so hard on most shoes. Please LE, make size 13W black patent leather mary janes.

Ran small.
Nice shoes, I've bought them several times before, but this time the size 11 ran really small, and I had to send them back. Disappointing for a grandchild whose sister got T-straps that fit her. Ordered the T-straps for the younger one to replace them.

Highly recommend!
Land's End has great quality shoes and they are worth the price, even though I usually buy with a sale/coupon and make them MORE worth the price! These Mary Janes run true to size and fit a bit longer because my daughter can wear them even when they are a bit big yet the strap keeps them in place. In fact, the strap is one of my favorite features because they stay on her feet! The patent stay looking great for a longer time than any other cheaper brand too.

Narrow Shoe
We really liked the mary jane but the shoe is very narrow and my daughter does not have wide feet. I would rated this shoe higher if it had not been so narrow.

Sturdy shoe, holds its shape after much wear
My daughter wears these for her school uniform in black patent and she plays very actively. We have gone through two sizes now over 14months, and even with continuous play, these shoes still look great! I could easily "hand down" the worn shoes to another child and they would still look great. Now on our third pair to size up. Will definitely continue to order these shoes.

Don't use the size chart!
If I had ordered the size I expected my daughter to wear, this would have been fine. Instead, I printed the size chart and measured her foot and ordered that size. It was way too big.
