nice coat
Be warned, the color is VERY bright. I ordered the pink, and found it to be much brighter than the photo. But, my daughter loved the color, and I will like how easy it is to spot her when we're at the playground. As soon as she tried it on, she commented on how soft the cuffs were. The coat seems snug in the chest area - not too much so - but definitely not a big, loose-fitting coat. The hood does not stay up - but my daughter never wears a hood, so it's not an issue for us. It seems less puffy than the photo too… she hasn't worn it in really cold weather, so I'm not sure that the lack of puffiness means a lack of warmth (although a coat I ordered from LE was not very bulky, but still keeps me nice and toasty).
The quality of the coat is nice - just like all LE products I've ordered.

Not up to the standard of previous years
This jacket is large for my average size 7 year old, it is much less puffy than in previous years and it's hard to judge if this makes it less warm or not. The colors and patterns were not as attractive as previous years either, too bright and garish. The hood will not stay up well as there is no synch to tighten it and this also makes for a large gap at the back of the neck where snow can get in. A bit of a disappointment and I would have sent it back had I not bought it at a reduced sale price.

Very Durable!
I bought this coat for my daughter two winters ago. She has worn it to school every day and I have washed and dried the coat many times! My daughter says she stays warm and loves the pink color. The only complaint I have is the inside cuff liners with the thumb hole are very slender, but it looks like they've done away with those in this updated version, so I can't imagine a better coat! My daughter has come in dry every time she's worn it outside to play and the coat dries very quickly on it's own too!

Good coat - BRIGHT colors!
The coat is great and feels warm. I wish I could keep it. I ordered the "bright crimson" coat, because it looked like a red in the picture. Now that I have received it in the mail it is a bright, bright, bright orange. I can't put my daughter in this. Too bad! If you like neon colors, this coat is for you. The other colors may be better.

Daughter loves the fit and comfort of this jacket
I purchased this for my 9 year old daughter who is very picky with the comfort level of the clothes she wears. The sizing seems to be a little on the big size, since a size small fits her just fine. We really like how this jacket is not too short, not extremely bulky. We like it so much that we ordered the next size up for her to grow into. We live in Southern Ohio, where the temperature can fluctuate quite a bit, but my daughter likes to wear this on the cold winter days, along with the warmer winter days.

Nice jacket, but has some flaws
The color, shine, and cut are cute and my daughter really loves it. I like the polar fleece at the wrists to keep out the cold/snow. I agree with earlier posts about the hood not fitting great without a closure or some elastic. One big problem I have with the coat is that I much prefer coats that have two ways to close them: an inner zipper and either snaps, toggles, or at least velcro on the outside. That way, a kid who can't do the zipper easily, or is in a hurry, can just do the upper snaps and still be covered. Also, I would definitely say that this is a narrow jacket, but that it runs long (biggish) in length of sleeves and body.

A great coat-- lightweight-- my daughter loves it!
After buying the Squall jacket, I ended up also buying this. She loves this jacket, and so far it's held up well. I bought the 6x for her (same size as the Squall jacket)--- she's on the smallish side, so I'd order up a size if you're not sure. We live in Minnesota, and she claims it keeps her warm. She likes that it's lightweight and not as stiff as the Squall jacket ( it was very tight in the arms), I bought this on sale, so I feel like it was a good value. The attached hood is nice and comes in handy.

Rain, Snow, or Just Cold
I gave as a gift to an eleven year old school girl who faces the above mentioned weather conditions on a
daily basis. It seems to meet most weather needs during the Fall or Winter.
