Great fit, but faded quickly.
This suit fits my 8 yo daughter very well and she loves it. But we will be returning it soon due to the fading. The suit has faded a lot, which is disappointing since we like the suit so much.

Suit faded dramatically after one wear--otherwise, it was great
The fit and style of this suit was perfect for my 11yo daughter. However, after one wear, the whole suit was so faded that I assumed there was something wrong with the chlorine levels in the pool. After reading others' comments, however, I can see that my experience was not unique. I plan to return the suit and, due to the fading issue, unfortunately will not be purchasing another one.

Faded Quickly
Let me preface the review with this...we LOVE LE suits! I purchase them every year for my son and 2 daughters. This one was a great fit, and very age appropriate for my almost 4 yr old. But after 2 trips to our swimming pool, the suit was completely faded. Our pool recently changed to a saltwater water system that is supposed to be easier on skin and bathing suits. I'm not sure what happened, but this suit was supposed to be for the ENTIRE summer. I'm afraid that I will have to send it back for another color. This fading just won't work.

Nice fit and great fabric prints
Both of these fabric prints are adorable - the blue fish print has a bit of metallic silver in it for some extra pizazz. Also like the fact that the top is lined and the straps are adjustable, so there's plenty of room for a customized fit and for growth. The tankini top is also long enough that when paired with the bottom, there were no mid-riff gaps - it gives the look of a full, one-piece suit. I ordered a size up in the tankini top and ordered my daughter's true size in the bottom. That sizing combination worked well for my tall, average weight kid.

Great for Tweens
My 11 1/2 year old daughter is ahead physically and in height from her peers and has become self-conscious of her new shape. The suits in the stores were terrible--too babyish or too revealing. She picked this one out and the butterfly gardens one piece suit and we are thrilled with both, and both she and I are hard to please on swimsuits. The 14 fit her perfectly but as said she is ahead of her age for growth/development (taller with curves). She chose the blue background with fish on it with matching bottoms. Very cute, stylish, fun but not babyish. Good coverage and she was no longer self-conscious of her emerging curves. Tankinis are also great for the bathroom runs as well, especially as a girl starts developing she doesn't want to totally pull down a one piece to use the toilet. We used it daily on spring break in ocean and pool and could not be happier. I love LE ....worth every penny for my tween daughter to feel good & still look appropriate at her age.

Very cute suit but faded during first wear
I bought a size 8 top and size 10 bottom, in the blue fish print, for my almost 9 year old to wear at Disney. It was much cuter on that I expected it to be. I washed it before taking it on our trip and it washed fine but after being in a Disney Resort pool for one day it completely faded to gray. I was very disappointed as I've never had this happen before and other suits worn in the same pool did not fade. Now after one wear it looks awful. Other than that it is a very cute and comfortable suit.

gaped open in the back
I bought this suit online in size 7 and had to return it. I found it to be very baggy. It actually gaped open in the back . My daughter tried on another swim top at our local Land's End store with the same problem. Even the smaller sizes gaped open. The one pieces we bought in size 7 fit perfectly. So there seems to be some size discrepancy in the girls swimsuits.

Cute and comfortable top!
My 8 year-old daughter tried this on in a size 10 at our local Lands End store today. She wore it with a size 8 bottom. Super cute on! I actually liked it much better on her than I expected to. It seemed to fit her much better than the other tankini style, which she complained felt too tight. She is tall and lean. She loves it, so we will order one with some other items from the spring catalog.
