Pencils down. We made our best new fit ever. The waistline isn't too high or too low. The fit in the hips and thighs isn't too loose or too tight. And the new softened Pencil leg shape is just right. In our soft and stretchy cords and all dressed up with pretty braided pockets for keeping all her precious finds. Machine wash. Imported.

Stylish Pencil Corduroy Pants
My daughter loves the stylish pencil pants which look great with any top. The corduroy pants are comfortable for active play except the waistband is a little too loose. Light color gets dirty easily; wish there will be more dark colors.

Too Tight!
I have a slim, but tall 5 year old and the legs on these (in a size 6) were so tight that we couldn't even pull them on her. Usually Land's End clothes fit her really well, but it was almost like these were defective. I had bought several colors and we had to return them all.

nice light weight material
These are terrific- I am surprised they are so inexpensive. The material is nice and lightwight- does not weigh one down. The spandex content is just enough-sometimes pants have too much spandex. The sizing takes some fussing because the different colors fit different. In size 12, the teal was alot tighter than the ivory, though both had to be exchanged for size 14. In size 14, the teal was looser than the caramel...the caramel is a bit binding at the knees. I think the other reviewers who said waistband too loose even with cinching it tighter are experiencing the effects of spandex. All pants with spandex have that characteristic where by the end of the day they can be around your knees. Only solutin is buy 100% cotton- which is getting harder to find. The rise is appropriately low rise for the era, though i suspect children with long torsos could find them too low rise (?). I wish they hadn't sold out of the navy and brown- only light colors are avaialbe. We have them now in teal and cocoa size 14 and just ordered ivory size 14.

Too skinny
The legs are too tight and the waistline is too low. The material is also thinner than average. Otherwise these could be good pants.

Great pants
I, too, came back on to buy more pairs. I bought the black on sale for my thin 10-year old, size 10. She usually wears yoga pants but she keeps ripping them, so I thought I'd try some heavier duty pants. These look so great on, slim fitting but not tight (at least not on my skinny kid), and adjustable waist so they'll stay up. The braids along the pockets and the buttons at the ankles make them look very stylish. As soon as she left for school this morning wearing the black pair for the first time, I came on here and bought two more pairs.

Love these cords! For the price, I might have to buy all colors.
I ordered two pairs of these cords at the (fantastic) clearance price, hoping there wasn't some major flaw that landed them in the clearance section. All I can say is that as soon as they arrived and my daughter tried them on, I ordered two more colors. The corduroy is soft and the colors appealing. The styling is cute and trendy without looking inappropriate for an 8 year old. They're "skinny" but not too skinny. My girl likes to run and climb and play. She thought these were comfortable. They have the nice hidden adjustable elastic inside the waistband for a perfect, gap-free fit and they were easy for my daughter to zip and button herself. They have adequate pockets (daughter gets mad if her pants have fake or useless pockets) and the colors were great, both basic and a few fashion colors. I recommend these without hesitation and at this price, I might even buy a couple pairs in the next size up for next year.
