This rattan table is woven from canes with solid cores — unlike some wicker furniture — so as it dries it becomes incredibly strong (your not-slight correspondent actually sat on the table a while and it stood up perfectly). The grey color is natural to this style of rattan (called “koboo”), and since it’s not an applied color, it won’t fade (although we recommend against letting the table become wet or exposing to direct sunlight).
