Love, Love, LOVE this blanket!
I bought a king sized blanket for my queen sized bed and it covers it like a bedspread, can even tuck the pillows in. It is beautiful! My bed looks neat and tidy. I purchased a yellow and a blue one when they were on clearence with an additional percentage off and I couldn't be happier. First, the yellow had to be washed almost immediately because it got it dirty (spilled coffee) and I must say it came out just as beautiful as when I opened the package. Yes, the fabric is a little crinkly but not so much that it disturbes me, it just sounds crisp and new, and doesn't bother my sleep. The weight is phenominal! Just right and warm without being suffocatingly warm and heavy. I use it alone over my top sheet and it doesn't need additional help keeping us warm, even with my cold feet. Our Virginia nights can frequently get below freezing, too. The fabric feels a little brushed and I occasionally have seen fine, fine downlike lint, but not on our clothes. I love this blanket so much ( I have 2 mind you) that I'm ordering 2 more colors at just percentage off price. I used my front load washer and have washed and dried the yellow one (my fav) twice in 3 months, it still is beautiful. Buy a king for your queen, the size is perfect! No shedding, love the light weight!
I'm back to buy a second one of these. I am surprised to see some reviews bemoaning feather loss. Virtually none from ours - its been fabulous. Could it be washing method?
My sweetie and I are on our second winter with this blanket and we love it. Our house is set at 57 degrees at night but find full down quilts are just too hot for us. We combine this down blanket with LE's cotton velour blanket topped by a silk/cotton quilt for a perfectly adjustable and breathable winter bed. I'm now getting another one and the 2 control electric blanket for my folks who need more warmth but can no longer tolerate much weight on their feet.

Perfect for our mild winters
I bought this several years ago when it was offered only in white and ivory. I got the white and have washed it several times with excellent results. We have had no problems with stray feathers. It doesn't get very cold in South Texas, but when it does, I use a cotton blanket over it, and it's perfect for us. We keep the temperature at 66 degrees at night and have two fans running constantly in that room.

Blanket facts
FYI for those complaining about the pin feathers coming through....the thread count on this blanket is only 230(which means 230 threads per inch). A larger thread count would provide a tighter weave with no "leaking". Hopefully this helps others make the right decision (I.e. Go for the better blanket!)

Disappointed
I purchased this down blanket in October 2010. I have two twin down blankets purchased from a competitor that have been in use for nearly six years, and have rarely shed a feather. When my spouse moved to our guest room (so his snoring would not disrupt my sleep), he requested a down blanket so I ordered this one. I love the maplewood color , and the fact that it is hemmed all around rather the having satin binding. Unfortunately it has done nothing but shed feathers --not just a few, a lot---in the nearly four months he has been using it. It does its job for lightweight comfort, but is always speckled with feathers. I just hope the feather shedding soon stops.

Overall, a very nice blanket, quite attractive, nice weight
I think that visually this is a very attractive blanket and just let me say I'm overall very pleased with it. It's a nice weight and will be perfect for summer in place of putting a comforter on my bed. It's a bit too lightweight for solo use in winter, but combined with a comforter it's quite nice. My only reservation with this blanket is that there are some feathers in with the down and they have been poking through. I think that I will be buying the pure-loft version of this blanket next to avoid that. The stitching pattern is very appealing and seems to keep all the fill nicely in place. Again, overall this is a very nice blanket and I consider it to be a reasonable purchase.

Good light weight, color slightly different than shown
This blanket is quite lightweight and probably best for spring and fall, even in moderate climates. This winter, I layered it with a quilt and another blanket for more warmth. The Chili pepper color is not a deep red as shown on the computer, it is pretty much a straight red with no blue or purple tones. But, I'm going to keep it anyway.

It is a very light down blanket, even for a light comforter. Being oversized is an additional plus.
I have a medium warmth down comforter (different manufacturer) which has been too warm for me, even though I am always cold. So, I was looking for something lighter and decided to try this one. It turned out to be way too light for what I expected. I had to use an extra blanket on the trial night. I am returning it, since it did not fit my purpose. Otherwise, it is a good size, light, and will work great for, yes, cool summer nights in northern states....

Perfect weight
We live in NW Montana and though we see really cold weather, the down comforter we had always made us too warm. We use this blanket for at least 7 mos of the year because it is JUST RIGHT. It has held up to numerous washings without even a feather. The only downside is it is a bit crinkly as far as noise, but... it is so compfy that you won't be conscious long enough to complain.

Perfect size; NOT all down
I just put the blanket on our bed. I ordered the queen, and it is the perfect size for the bed. I wish all manufacturers used Lands' End's size specifications for bedding.
While putting the blanket on I read the label. I noticed on the label that the blanket is not all down. It's 75% down and 25% feathers.The label on the outside of the bag says it's a down blanket. The only mention of feathers on the website is a comment that the blanket provides warmth that is as light as a feather. It may be legal (and I have no idea whether it is or not) but it doesn't seem right to me that the first warning about a feather content is when I'm about to use the blanket. I'm angry that Lands' End did not mention the feather content, so I could decide if I wanted to order it or not.
I can feel some of the little feather pins through the blanket, which is a problem, since this is the layer next to the top sheet. If the old comforter wasn't in the wash, I'd put the "down" blanket back in the bag.
I'm not sure if I will keep the blanket. I doubt I will order from Lands' End again.
