Design: What makes this dress so special? Not only is it deliciously airy, but it’s made with one of the oldest and most rare textile fibers in the world. Ramie or ‘China Grass’ was used in Egyptian mummy cloths and has been lauded for centuries as a noble fiber for its pure white color, silky luster and incredible strength (they say ramie is eight times stronger than cotton). Even better? It’s totally machine washable and won’t ever shrink. To give the yarn its due refinement, we finished this dress with a delicate crochet yoke and sweet scalloped trim to create a unique piece that, dare we say, will never be buried in your closet.
Possibilities: Don’t let this dress get too high and mighty — we ground it with an old pair of cream-colored canvas sneakers and take it to the streets.
