Inspired by our famous Canvas Tote, the Canvas Dog Duffel provides the small dog a comfy home away from home. The Dog Duffle has a firm, fleece-covered bottom for easy standing (rip-grip tape keeps it steady, and the fleece removes for washing). There’s a hook to attach to the collar, and a mesh top that zips completely closed for the ultimate security (choose this one if you’re traveling) 100% cotton canvas (exclusive of 100% polyester fleece). Spot clean. Imported.

Returned it.
Not bad for first try but it needs refinement. There are no horizontal stabilzers on the top to keep it square so the sides collapse in, especially if you put it over your shoulder and drape your arm over it. The solid piece in the bottom helps the bag retain it's shape but it's just a removable fleece 'envelope' over hard plastic; you still need a towel or blanket in the bottom to make it comfortable for your pet. Not enough ventilation: one edge and the top are mesh but that's it. I'd rather have mesh panels between the canvas straps on the sides instead of a pocket. This bag would make my Pug too hot so I returned it.

not as sturdy as I would think is necessary
Ok, it is definitely cute. However I think it is really odd (and needs to be changed going forward) that the monogram/name is on the left hand side. I would think that you would want to carry the dog with the mesh facing forward not backwards, so the dog can see where you are going and you can look down and see your dog while carrying the tote. But doing so completely obscures the monogram as it sits up against your right shoulder. I guess it wouldn't be as big a deal for left handed people. But for right handed, suggest you request monogram on the right side.
As far as sturdiness, I am concerned, but maybe it is because I am not familiar with soft pet carriers in general and they all do this...This is why I said not recommended. When the dog is in the carrier, and you pick it up, the top on both sides collapses in to itself greatly minimizing the room the dog has to move around. I think it would be fine on the ground when it is flat once you straightened out the top but as soon as you carry it, it folds up like a taco at the top. Maybe they all do this, not sure, but doesn't seem like it would be enjoyable. Not sure if I will keep it or not. I bought for airline travel, and it does seem exponentially more sturdy than many other carriers would be, simply from being canvas instead of nylon, but we'll see.
