What has happened to LandsEnd?
Have bought this model for years. Very disappointed in the quality of this version. My son has worn it for about 8 weeks. At first, I thought the wrap around the thumb feature was great to keep the arms warm but it has pilled horribly and looks nappy after about three weeks but we lived with it. Then this morning the zipper broke irreparably and we scrambled to find an old coat for the 12 degree school day. I continue to be disappointed in the diminishing quality from the former reliable LandsEnd.

The jacket was okay and nice for just a general everyday winter coat.
Got size 10 for my eight year-old but it was still fine.. Seemed warm but that was because it was so heavy with layers. I will have to get him another jacket for skiing since this one was too bulky. It's the first time I have gotten Landsend outerwear for my kids.

Disappointed
FYI, we order a ton of LandsEnd for the whole family. We like most of the products & love the excellent customer service. Unfortunately Sears in Canada is no longer affiliated so we have to pay to send back returns. But I still order. My son just started wearing this coat in the last few weeks. We had to return the last one we tried, the 3-in-1, because the sleeves were a big problem. Like other reviewers reported, the sleeves of the interior jacket kept pulling out of the arms & going inside out every time he took off the jacket. Not easy for a 5 year old to deal with at school. I was hoping this would be a good replacement but I'm not sure it's going to be warm enough for a Toronto winter. Also, I noticed that after just a few weeks there are already 2 dime-sized holes in the fleece lining where the little rope loop used for hanging the jacket on a hook attaches. I will be sending the jacket back if this is any indication of it's durability. So frustrating. My daughter had a LE parka (with detachable fur edged hood) that she wore for 2 years & has now given a friend to use. It's in excellent condition.

My son's school dress code requires this jacket. It is very well made and is beautiful.

Great Coat
Great coat lightweight love that the sleeves have the insert to keep the snow and cold out. It does run a little large and the waist was very wide, glad it had the inner waist drawstring. My son is very small framed so the large waist was huge on him, I am hoping next year it fits him a little better because this year its a little to big to wear.

Son loves it!
I really wanted to get my son the down parka, but he didn't like the patch on the arm. So, my very picky son chose this jacket for himself. He loves it! He says that it is very warm and loves the hand warmers. He can zip it up easily himself. He just turned 6 and we ordered the size little boy's medium, which is perfect.

My son loves it
We haven't had really cold weather yet for a thorough test, but so far we are quite pleased. My son loves the rip grip sleeves. And the hood is really nice - it actually stays in place and seems to keep him warm without needing another stocking cap.

Fantastic coat!
Bought this coat for my 5 year old grandson- I got the coat in a size Small and he is a little small for his age so it is a little bit big but lots of room for growing - he loves the sleeve gloves that he can put his hands into -and I love the evergreen color - reflective edges show up nicely at night -he had one similar to it in a red color and outgrew it way before he wore it out - repels rain nicely - can't say enough - nice warm coat

Excellent
As always the extra attention to detail and needs of a winter coat are awesome. My son says very warm, extra arm length available is wonderful. Coat material feels very warm and durable for sure.
