Climbers™ are the go-to pants of boyhood, designed to handle the abuse your guy throws at them. That doesn't mean they're not comfortable, though. Garment washing means they're preshrunk and soft from the start. Plus, an elastic waist and built-in belt gives them a great fit every time they pull them on — no pinching, no sagging. (Tots sizes have a faux belt.) Open-bottom style. 100% cotton fabric in strong twill or ringspun denim. Machine wash. Imported.

Disability Friendly and Top Notch Longevity
My son has Cerebral Palsy and walks on his knees all the time. I was purchasing pants every month because the knees would just wear out. These pants only started to show wear at the knees the second week of June, after 10 months of everyday wear. He wore them to school, during gym, and to therapy all the time. So very happy to finally find a true "Tough Knee" pant that holds up to everyday use. I made them into shorts for the summer and they still look great. The elastic waist is a big help, he is able to tend to personal matters without assistance. Button waists pants create a real self esteem issue for us. Thank you Landsend for creating a pant that will hold up for a disabled child. So happy my son now has a presentable pant that can out last a school year! Thanks for being Disability Friendly, that means more than you know!

The only pants you'll need to buy!
I have twin boys, 14 yrs, and they have been in Land's End climber pants since elementary school; I just keep buying the next size up as they grow. They haven't had much need for any other pants - the climbers are great for school and play (love the double knees) and work for even "dressier" occasions - out to dinner, recitals, parties - just add a nice polo and sweater vest. Fit great - just roll the bottoms up if they are too long and they grow with you. Easy on/off even for the littlest children - I work at a school and so many kids cannot handle the zippers and tough snaps on jeans. Just pull these up - elastic waist is comfy and easy and the belt gives a custom fit (adds a dressy touch too). Weight is perfect year round. My kids wear them every day, and I wash them after every wear (who knows what they sit on at school!) and the colors/shape/fabric have held up fabulously. They always outgrow them before they are worn out - even the knees are fine. So instead of buying lots of different pants for kids who are growing so fast, just invest in a few climber pants and you're good until the next growth spurt.

No one suspects elasticized waist - looks good!
Like many other reviewers, I have been buying these pants year after year for my son with fine motor difficulties, now 17. What would I do without them? Resort to sweat pants I guess. He just pulls these on comfortably and looks great. I too miss the medium denim, and the cargo pants with all the pockets, and haven't even had him wear the new dark jeans, which look like his mom bought them (well, I guess I did; mea culpa). Please keep making these pants for kids to adults who need elasticized pants, and keep them looking good, for guys for whom this is a real Godsend in the wardrobe department.

these are the only pants my son can wear
Please bring back these pants my son is 32 & these are the best fitting pants I can find for him. The quality is excellent, we love them please bring back the medium denim color!!!

Bring back the cargo climbers - including denim
My son has been wearing climbers and cargo climbers for over 10 years. He does not like the iron knee cargo pants because the cargo pockets are much smaller than the cargo climber pants's cargo pockets. He likes to fit his cell phone and other important items in the velcro pocket. Also, the iron knee cargo pockets are internal to the pants leg and put pressure on the leg. The cargo climber cargo pants' pocket is external to the pant leg, can accommodate more volume than the newer pant design, and expands to fit the pocket's content. The olive green cargo climber is perfect for Boy Scout activities. The denim cargo climber pants are great jeans. Please bring back the cargo climber pants in denim, olive green, and other colors.

Bring back the old denim and cargo style!
I am so happy to see Climber pants / shorts back but what happened to the nice, tough, medium-washed denim? My boys don't like the "dark indigo" and would rather have cargo the style - though if it comes down to wearing the non-cargo style vs. another pant with button & zipper, these win hands-down! One of my sons has fine motor issues and hates buttons / zippers but my other son prefers the ease of pull-on pants / shorts as well. Climbers wear like iron - some of mine have been through 3 boys and not one pair has ripped through the second knee layer yet! Only complaint is that my older, husky son has to "say no to crack" a lot but for the ease and durability of these pants, we just prefer to keep reminding him to pull them up. They fit my other lean & athletic son just right! More colors and a return of corduroy in the fall would be great! Wish you would make these in adult sizes - I will be scrambling for options when my older son outgrows these in a couple years!

Please stock more!
I just ordered a pair of these for my son and definitely would like to order more. So happy you offer slim - perfect for my son - usually we have to tighten the little elastic ties by at least 4 notches/side on other pants, these were perfect. Great for a kindergartner so he can look sharp but still be confident using the bathroom by himself. Material is soft and thick and pockets are deep (very important for my son). I came back to order more and see they are not available - so sad! Please re-stock and I'll be the first in line to buy several for his school uniform!

Don't discontinue them
My son has been wearing this style for years and, although he's not disabled, does not want to wear any other pants. He hates the new style. If Lands End doesn't bring them back then they've lost a customer.

Great quality and durability
These are the perfect pants for boys that play rough at school and don't want to take the time to deal with buttons and zipper. Had it for 5 years and love it. Please don't discontinue, we just love them. The Husky is wider but not huge and fits very nicely with giving extra room to move better.

quality of Dark Indigo seems inferior
I have bought these in several sizes over the years, usually in the denim fabric. The new dark denim, "dark indigo," is very different from, and of a lesser quality than, the older medium denim. Even after several washes, it feels stiff and appears somewhat shiny. For my family, it's not quite what we want in terms of basic, everyday jeans for our little boy. I think we'll order one or two of these climber pants in twill, but look elsewhere for pull-on jeans, in regular denim.
