Boys' Iron Knee® Pull-on Ripstop Pants 4 5 48 48
Great fit, so far, great quality & durable for a very active boy My 5 year-old son is very active and constantly ripping holes in the knees of his pants. We've only had these a few weeks, but so far, I am very pleased with the quality and durability of these pants. I also like the ripstop fabric and the elastic waist. Seem to fit true-to-size, and comfortable for my husky son. As long as they hold up like I expect them to, I will be purchasing more pairs soon. January 6, 2013
Great pants I ordered these pants for my 9 year old grandson, who is a big boy, at 100 pounds and 4ft. 9 inches tall. The husky size 12 was a perfect fit for him, and he thinks they are so comfortable that he won't wear any other brand of pants. I also got him the canvas pants in husky size 12. Another excellent buy from Land's End. January 5, 2013
Great choice to update the style! I was worried when I saw reviews on similar pants that people preferred the older climber pants. We got them and I love the styling. Lots of thought went into these pants - the iron knees, pull tabs by the snaps on pockets and fly, a snap not a button, reinforced stitching on the heel side of the cuff. I wasn't sure I'd like the rip stop material, but it is soft and seems high quality. They fit my son perfectly - although I order slightly larger than he needs to get more 'wear' time out of them. The new design allows me to sinch the waist - so it is perfect! My son loves the comfort and style. He, like a lot of people who bought the climber pants, has fine motor issues with buttons/zippers - so these will continue to be on the must-have list for him until he grows out of the size 20! My husband would like you to make them in men's sizes! Thanks! August 19, 2012
Slim sizes are excellent pants for tall, thin boys Most slim pants are still not slim enough for our 9 year old son. These pants are slim and have the adjustable waist, so they actually fit him! I was so excited to find them, I bought 3 pairs. The reinforced knees look like they'll last a while, too. It would be a nice change of pace if he actually outgrows his pants before he rips out the knees. April 28, 2013
Durable, comfortable pants for active boys We now have these pants in 3 colors because my 10 year old son wants to wear them constantly! The weight of the pants is a little bit lighter than the canvas ones (which we also have and like) so he will wear them well into the spring. Even though they are lightweight, they are holding up beautifully, which is important because he regularly gets holes in the knees of his other pants after only 1 or 2 wearings. I think these might actually last long enough that we could pass them on to his brother! I also really appreciate the husky sizing. I would love to see them in even more colors, like black, gray, and a true navy. April 27, 2013
Rip stop pants ripped! Bought two pairs of these for my son to wear to camp. One day one pair ripped from the crotch down to his knee. Same thing happened with the second pair next day.. same place! April 27, 2013
Excellent pair of pants! My son has worn Climber pants for years and just loves them so I really hesitated before buying the new style pants. It turns out that these fit perfectly and look really good on him. They are different from the old Climber pants - my son considers them less dressed up because they don't have the belt - but they are just as good. The iron knees are very strong. My son decided to test them by sliding around the ground on the playground, then looking at his knees and saying "look, mommy, my iron knees are still good". The only thing that worries me is that he is wearing a size 7 and I know that once he'll need size 8 they'll have buttons and zipper instead of being true pull-up pants. So, we love them but I don't know whether my son will accept the button and zipper once he moves to big boy sizes. April 27, 2013
Love the pants, but it took a couple of tries to get the right size... My 7 1/2 year old boys are starting to outgrow their size 7 LE cargo climbers, so I figured I'd give these pants a try. Since my guys have always worn a "regular" fit I didn't think twice about sizing and ordered a couple of these pants in a size 8. Well, when they tried them on we all had the biggest laugh... The pants were HUGE - like completely falling off of them... My boys have been wearing LE pants for the past couple of years and they've always been a great fit, so this came as a bit of a surprise. I had also ordered them a couple of pairs of shorts and some snow pants for next winter, all in a size 8, and they were all really big. Maybe it's the jump from the Little Boys sizes to the Big Boys sizes, but I would say that none of the items that I ordered fit according to the size chart. I kept everything since I'm sure it'll fit them at some point, but I also reordered these pants in an 8 slim. That gave them the perfect fit with room to grow. I'd say that the 8 slim in these are in between the 7 regular in the cargo climbers and 8 regular in this style. For reference, my boys are 51" and 52" and 58lbs and 61lbs, so right in the size 8 regular range. Other than the sizing, these pants are great! We haven't had them long enough to truly test the iron knees, but I'm hoping they can stand up to school yard soccer and mini-sticks. The weight is really nice for spring/fall in Canada. We love the adjustable waist (so many elasticized pants don't have this feature) and how they can easily be pulled up and down without having to undo the snap and zipper (that's my boys talking). The colours are great and the pants are a nice style that's in between sporty and casual. Now that I've found the right size, I'll be ordering the camo next. April 19, 2013
Nice pants My son has worn a couple times and he has no complaints about comfort or style. To me, they look very comfortable and offer up a change from the everyday blue jeans. March 31, 2013
They actually fit I can't wear men's pants from Lands End because they are cut too flat in the behind. The flat-behind cut is flowing down into the boys clothes now, and my very beefy boy can't fit into just about anything from Lands End now, driving me to other stores. This is the last pair of pants Lands End makes now that really fit my boy. They don't make it in shorts (I'll have to buy all of them elsewhere from now on). Other Lands End pants size 12H are not the same size through the hips. If your son has 'hockey hips,' this is the only choice. March 19, 2013
