great pants! My son says these are comfy. He likes all the pockets. I only washed them once but they seem very durable and wash and dry well. We love the iron knees. We bought a 10 H husky for my 8 1/2 year old but they fit him exactly so I ordered a 12 H. They are a little big but he will be able to wear them longer. December 24, 2012
Child loves these pants My almost 6 year old is a challenge to get dressed. Doesn't like or wear anything with buttons/snaps or adjustable waistbands. Thank you Lands End for making pants made to fit a 5 slim boy with the pull on feature and no adjustable waistbands with buttons. You cannot find quality pants made to fit anywhere else. The nylon pants he was wearing always had holes in the knees. Not these. I've ordered 2 more. November 28, 2012
Did not hold up I bought two pairs for my boy. Both pairs split in the front within a few weeks. I don't mind paying extra for long lasting wear but these were very disappointing. Very grateful for the return policy. April 28, 2013
Love them - Saves Me Time & $. Love the knees. Every spring and fall, my son tears the knees out of every pair of pants. Because of this, we have a lot of cut-off shorts each summer. These babies come home muddied with knee skid marks from football and soccer in the park, but thankfully, have never ripped or torn. And what's not to love about camo pants - they hide the grime and dirt and are stylish. Great value to me as they save me $ and time. Also like the easy pull-on waist, - just wish they were longer waisted, as they end up sitting on my long-waisted son's hips instead. April 13, 2013
Name should be rips instead of ripstop!! Poor quality I bought these for my son ,who loved them. while at school he reached to get a pencil and the whole inseam ripped out ! I exchanged them for another pair thinking maybe it was just that pair of pants. This time he was at recess ,inseam ripped out again!! This is very embrassing for a 10 year old. I buy most of his clothes form Lands End and have never had a problem but if you are thinking of purchasing these pants pick something else!! March 30, 2013
If these are clean, my son is wearing them I got these for my son in both colors. He loves everything about them, and so do I. He says they are very comfortable. He loves the easy on/off, all the pockets, the comfortable waist. I love the tough fabric, the wash/dry and wear, and the look. March 26, 2013
6 months in and they are still going strong! My son has 4 pair of pants in this style (plain and camo). He has been wearing them since September. They have held up marvelously. The "iron knee" has lived up to its name with plenty of rough, active use and no "blow-outs". The pants have been washed weekly and air-dried, and they still look great, plenty good enough for another year of wear (if they still fit!). I have been particularly impressed that with the multiple lines of stitching at the cuff and the cuff width, folding up the length of the pants has been no problem at all, as it stays up well and the fold up "fits" the look of the pants nicely w/o looking out of place or in need of tailoring. I can't say enough good about the option of the easy-on/easy-off elastic waist. My son has no identified sensory issues other than being a 7-year-old boy who'd rather not spend time buttoning and zipping. And these have the advantage of looking "grownier". He invariably chooses to wear these over his standard blue jeans---probably both for the ease and also for the roominess. March 7, 2013
Excellent pants for a boy who USUALLY has holes in his pant's knees I bought these and the solid olive pair for my 6 year old son for Christmas (2012) Usually he is in denim that ends up with holes in the knees within a few weeks. He is very active and loves to pretend to break dance and spin on the hardwood floor. They do not even show wear yet, which is amazing with as much as he has worn them! They look really nice on him and the fit is excellent. He is a slim and we usually have to cinch in the waist on pants. These fit very nicely without that and he is glad to not have those buttons on the inside for adjusting! January 19, 2013
Please bring back the climbers, they are much more durable and seem to cover my son's hind end better. I've always loved how the climbers fit my son. Fit is just okay, a little low in the waist. Started to get a hole in the groin area, where the zipper would be, never had that problem with the climbers. Please bring the climbers back. January 8, 2013
Fabric too thin - does not take abuse For years my 3 boys have enjoyed the canvas pants similar to these. The ripstop material that these are make of is extremely fragile. I will be returning all of them (most of them have already ripped) and exchanging them for the canvas fabric pants. January 7, 2013
