Boys' f(x)? Ski Jacket 4.2 5 15 15
I LOVE this coat!! So far my 11 year old son and I LOVE this coat! It has many bells and whistles not found in other coats (i.e. wrist snowguards with thumbholes, the snowskirt to keep drafts out, the easy access pocket on the sleeve with shammy for ski goggles, adjustable hat for ski helmet, 2 in. adjustable sleeves to grow with your child). To agree with another Review, yes this coat is thin but that is one of the benefits of modern technology. Coats these days do not have to be Big & Bulky to be warm. This coat is no thinner than your Squall Coats and those have always kept my kids toasty warm for years. We LOVE this coat!! November 29, 2012
Light Weight Ski Jacket I am not sure it would be warm enough for skiing but it's perfect as a winter jacket. I got M for my 6 year old son and it fits with room to grow into. Can't beat the sale price. Happy with the purchase. May 11, 2013
well made got for grandson to grow into as the colors were nice and the extra piece inside that acts as wind draft of help keep snow out is a great idea. i just wish there were snow pants to match the gree in it it is a nice shade April 28, 2013
My son loves this coat but DO NOT follow the washing instructions! We bought this coat for my 8 year old son in snowdrift. We are avid skiers and need the warmth without the bulk. He says it is super warm and loves the thumb holes at the cuff. We have always bought a lot of Landsend products and have been satisfied but not this time. DO NOT follow the washing directions. It say turn inside out and wash in warm and normal. I should have followed my instincts and washed in cold on the color cycle. What a mistake. The flourescent green bled all over the white in the front. So I washed again with a shout color catcher. This time the green and the gray bled all over the back and more dye was on the front. Thumbs down to the wash testing lab. February 27, 2013
Got 2 of these, good quality and really stylish I got Regent (s) and Snowdrift (m) for my 2 boys who ski, and we were really pleased. The jackets are of good quality and really stand out in a nice, stylish way. I do not agree that these are too thin, they are just the right bulk since you are supposed to be wearing layers underneath to adjust warmth - as you ski or be in active snow play you actually sweat so you should wear layers of clothing you can remove or add as needed. Also, this ski jacket allows for greater freedom of movement due to the thickness (or thinness) - my boys said they do not feel like snowmen while wearing the jacket but still feel warm and dry after a full day of skiing or sledding. Modern ski jackets also come in similar thickness and material such as this, but priced so much more. I've looked at several ski outfit brands in different sports stores and still loved the LE one as seen online, the product looked as pictured. The style and colors are unique, we went to Heavenly Ski Resort and it was easy to spot my boys because of the colors - they really stood out in a crowd of black/boring ski wear. Suggestion for improvement: a sturdy loop to attach lift/sledding tickets as other ski jackets have, also while the length is perfectly sized - I think the width is too "fat" so I marked the fit as being on the big side. Jacket is NOT warm I'm very dissappointed and dissatisfied with this jacket. My son is 9 yrs old and we purchase lands end jackets almost every year from you -- this is the 1st time I"m dissatisfied with your product. First and most important my son insists that this jacket does not keep him warm, and is actually wearing at the neck collar - it's only 3 months old. It doesn't seem as heavy or insulated as previous years' coats, infact when I saw it in the store I questioned it's warmth because if did look too thin but went ahead and purchased it knowing that you fabricate with thinsulation. Unfortunately, it's poorly insulated so I'm returning your jacket to Sears. January 21, 2013
Great coat, good value. My son loves this coat and I do too. I purchased it during one of the great Land's End sales. The green in the Regent color is easily seen from a distance. I look forward to having the opportunity to use the grow with you feature in the sleeves. January 19, 2013
My Boys Love Their Ski Coats! My twin 7-year old boys love their ski coats. They fit well, have nice features and are thin but extremely warm. The coats grow feature is fantastic so at the price I paid (pre-sale) it is a good thing I will get a few years out of them! Additionally, the coats bright colors made them easy to spot on the mountain during recent ski trip to Colorado! January 17, 2013
Great coat for skiing and general winter conditions This coat is nice and light and, being waterproof, perfect for winter play in all kinds of weather. Although a bit too warm for my 11 year old son when cross country skiing recently, it isn't too heavy and bulky to whip off and stuff in a backpack. It'll be perfect over a fleece for downhill skiing when he has to sit on a chilly and windy ski lift for 20 minutes! I love the splash of bright colours that helped make him easy to find on a foggy toboganning hill and in a rainy forest trail. Yet the design is not too juvenile to put my pre-teen son off wearing it. One improvement would be to add reflective material, so kids can be more easily seen on dark, rainy evenings until the days get longer. January 13, 2013
This Winter Jacket is exactly what we hoped for... Boys' f(x)? Ski Jacket in Wild Cherry. My son lost his winter coat just before the winter solstice. I ordered this because I like the style and I picked the colors because they look very similar to the Washington Redskins colors. They are almost an exact match and my son loves it! He usually prefers blues and greens but since we live just outside of Washington DC we went with team colors. The fit is good - it is large only because I ordered it a little larger than he wears so that he can wear it next year too. January 7, 2013
