Big drop off from the past. Fair deal only if on sale.
The quality of the previous version is apparently no longer available, at any price, in kids sizes. Lands End has no advantage here so watch the price. The fit is fine. Sweatshirt is worn as everyday wear by a small adult - smaller than a men's small.

Soft and cozy!
Like all Lands End products, this sweatshirt is well made, durable and soft. Nothing else I have found beats the softness of the Lands End T's and sweats

Not the same quality...
I'm very disappointed with the sweatshirts I received. These are not the high quality sweatshirts I've order from past years. The 2012 version is not 100% cotton, is thinner, is less warm and I think less durable than previous years. I consider this to be a lightweight layer for cool spring or summer evenings. This is not the heavy duty layer that I thought I was ordering. Does not meet the standardst I've come to expect from Lands End.

I bought for my 5 yr son for school wear. perfect fit. cozy on the inside and not pilling. he loves it.

Better than average
The quality of LE sweatshirt has definite gone downhill. They used to be of superior quality, but now they are very similiar to the average sweatshirt. BUT, I do think that they are probably better than the big box store ones, but only buy if they are on sale.

Disappoinment
I have purchased these sweatshirts for my sons. In previous years, I have gotten them in sizes 2T, 3T, 4T, and now in boys sizes S and M. I keep them on the shelf of their closet as "go to" items for chilly weather. There is a huge difference in the thickness and softness from last year's items. Last year, I purchased two boys M and they are soft and cozy. I rely on them as an alternative to sweaters in the winter. The shirts that I purchased this year will not keep them as warm for sure. What I will likely do is have my son wear this year's thinner version in the fall and save last year's thicker/softer version for the winter. I have read other reviews that LE has changed material/quality of their items, I guess this is an example as well.
