I buy slims My sons both wear slims. My 8 year old a 7 slim fits perfect and 6 year old the 5/6 slim. I love the colors- we have the blue/ green color scheme. So much better than just plain solids or sharks! June 3, 2013
Great Quality Swim Trunks These swim trunks are great. I bought the 7 for my son who is wearing 7s in every other brand. Fits him well-- slightly wide at the waist, but the length is perfect. Great quality. I also bought the size 5-6 for my younger son who is wearing 6s and 7s in every other brand but is shorter than my older son. They fit him well, again wide at the waist and I should have just gone with the 7s as the 5-6 will be too short by the end of summer. May 29, 2013
Size 5 is too big for my 5-yr-old. Consider ordering a smaller size... I ordered size 5 shirt and shorts in the blue/green color scheme. My 5-yr-old son wears size 5 everything else, although he does have a very narrow build. So I wasn't surprised when the waist looked like it needed taking in an inch, but the length of the shorts is behind his knees instead of above, and the shirt is also roomy and longish. I plan to take them by a Sears and see if he can try on a size 4 for comparison. It's nice if the suit can last two years, but this seems to big for this year. The colors are fantastic and it looks well-made like all the Lands End clothes. May 13, 2013
Great for slim kids My kids are slim and can't wear most swim suits unless I size down a few sizes-then they are super short. This is the 3rd summer I am buying from Lands End. 10yo is about 60lbs and he is in the 10 slim. The regulars were HUGE. The slim fit perfectly. Disappointed that they seem slightly shorter then the regulars, but not a huge deal. 8yo is 50lbs and in an 8 slim -they are a little big on him but won't fall down. I do find that they fade, but after constant use in the pool, hot tub and beach. Love the weight and feel of the fabric. Great value when gotten on sale. May 12, 2013
Lands End swim trunks are our favorite This is the third pair of LE swim trunks my grandson has had. The other two were plain colors; we decided to try something different this time. I don't like the style as well as I thought I would (prefer the color block with 3 different colors going across which I ordered for his brother), but he liked the bright colors in this one -- the orange, red, bright blue combination. He hasn't worn these yet, but I expect they'll be durable like the other two pair he has had. April 28, 2013
great swimsuit I bought these swim trunks for my son. He will wear it when we go on vacation to the beach/water park this year. It fits great! April 23, 2013
No Pockets The look of the swimsuit is great, but the description says there is a back pocket. Please note, there are NO pockets. My son was dissappointed about that. April 15, 2013
Ran Small My son loved these swim trunks. Even though we used the size chart they were much too small. Sad to be returning them. April 15, 2013
cute but choosing sizes online is impossible... These trunks are very cute in a retro way! I ordered a size Medium Slim for my 9 y.o. who is 55 inches tall and 68 lbs. The Medium Slim should've fit perfectly, but they are loose in the waist (inside of waistband measures 24.5 inches) and look really long - past his knees (inseam is 9.75). Might try the Small Slim and see how that works out. . . . April 11, 2013
Runs short My son is 45" and 44lbs and I had to get him the 7 slim in this suit and it still barely touches his knees. I can't imagine him in the M/5-6 - it would be mid-thigh! Cute suit though - you just can't beat Lands End for quality. I just wish I didn't have to order 2-3 sizes of each suit for the kids to see which one fits. I always feel bad returning all the extras.
