Would work well for average to husky boys The inside adjustable waste on these short is not the usual buttonhole system, but is an internal drawstring. This worked terribly for my skinny, but tall son who needs a size four in length. When I tied the drawstring tight enough for him the shorts had a huge gap in the front where the decorative button is and he looked ridiculous. He also had trouble untying the drawstring himself which I thought could lead to some serious potty accidents for a three and a half year old. He just won't be able to wear them. This is disappointing since the shorts are of terrific quality and have a nice print. May 14, 2013
