coziest product ever
I just bought this blanket for my daughter who is always cold. She's wanted an electric blanket for ages now but they were always too expensive and the blankets felt scratchy and rough. We've both bought Land's End fleece for years so we thought this blanket had to be soft and comfy. It arrived yesterday and I debated wrapping it up for Christmas but she was so cold I gave it to her and she didn't waste any time putting it on her bed. She absolutely loves it and said she doesn't want to get out of bed because the blanket feels so nice and it was warm and cozy under the covers. She'll love it even more when our winter really kicks in with those freezing cold temperatures. The blanket we bought was queen size so the fit was great and there is no other fleece that's as nice as Land's End. The duel controls are great because she can shut off the heat on the other side of her bed. Even set at a 3, the blanket nicely warmed the bed. And I got it at an unbeliebeable price. Everybody is happy now, even our little dog who sleeps with her.

Excellent for Colorado Cold Winters!
We have a beige king blanket and have adored it. This is it's third winter. While it may not produce "instant" heat, we have found it to produce a long, consistent type of heat. Most of the time, I'll hop in bed for a 30 minute period and then switch it off for the remainder of the night. The blanket retains the heat and is completely satisfying. We're very pleased with the controls and the ease of laundering. No complaints from us... we're Lands End believers! Great blanket and we completely recommend it to anyone seeking winter warmth!

Smell got to me
I must say I really liked the warmth of this blanket, and the weight suited me to a tee. But I just couldn't get use to the smell. It smelled to me like some kind of petroleum product. Maybe it was treated to be flame retardant. I don't know, but it had a smell right out of the package. I hung it outside to air out, thinking that this would help. It didn't. It actually was much worse. I am returning these two.

Not Warm
I thought it was me. I bought this several months ago, well before we'd need it for the cold winter, so I only recently started turning it on. Mistake... I find that even on the highest setting, it doesn't really get warm at all. Yes, I can feel a very slight difference in temperature, but not even as warm as my 15 year old blanket that this one replaced. I had expected to actually feel it get toasty after preheating for several hours, but no. It was only slightly warm after getting in bed, and you couldn't tell any warmth at all to the touch. I'm calling Lands End to inquire about replacement even though it's been a while. I guess it's wise to try these out thoroughly before needing them.

Good Blanket, Excellent Customer Service
I bought this blanket in King size after a move to Minnesota to prepare for the icy cold winters. I am more than pleased with the blanket, it doesn't feel warm to the touch, but does an excellent job of keeping me cozy all through the night. I keep my room very chilly (around 58*F) and this blanket provides more than enough heat on setting 5. Unfortunately, after 2 weeks my husband's side of the bed stopped warming. I called customer service and they are doing a no hassel replacement for the defective product. Thanks, Lands End!

Wonderful blanket.
This blanket is superior to all other heated blankets I've seen. It looks good, has a nice weight, and the heating elements are minimal to the touch and invisible to the eye. I was able to choose exactly the right heat setting, and it stayed consistent all night.

Our family LOVES these blankets!!!!
I have purchased one blanket a year, for the last four years to put on every bed in our house!! They wash well and wear even better. We had our first one that needed to be replaced, but it was EASY to do and so worth it!! Best blanket, hands down!!

Love it
I got these for my kids--they love them! Safe, and not hot to the touch. I purchased these in December of 2010, and just yesterday my daughter's stopped working for no reason--I called Lands' End and they will replace it with no hassle. I am thrilled and my daughter can't wait to get her blanket back. Now I call that exceptional customer service. Thanks Lands' End.

The purple color has a strong odor.
Just bought my 2nd of this blanket. The first has been wonderful and expected the same when I bought the purple one. However, it smells strongly of motor oil. I have washed it 8 times, 2 times in Dawn, once in baking soda, twice in bleach. It continues to stink. The first blanket I bought was light blue and was odorless.

Short lived warmth, soon to be no warmth!
I was just getting ready to order another Antistatic HeatComfort Blanket until I saw the negative reviews. I thought I had gotten the "dud" blanket, however after reading the problems others had that I also had with my blanket I now see it is not just my blanket.
We have had our queen size blanket for just over a year now, we only use it during the winter months in Indiana. The first year, for half of the winter, the blanket was the best. Then after about 3 months the heat output began to dwindle. This winter, after hooking up the heating controls, about a month into the chilly season one side's heating capabilities completely died. Thankfully it was my husband's side!
However feeling bad that I had a cozy, warm side of the bed I thought I would order a new blanket when I received a Land's End coupon. The coupon arrived, but I think I will research electric blankets a little deeper to find one that will last at least two winter seasons.
