Don't Buy the Red Sheets
I love red and bought these sheets plus a duvet cover. First let me say they feel wonderful. You have to wash them a few times to stop the piling. The piling was awful but after about 4 washings it does get better. I had red dots all over my carpet and pajamas for weeks. After working thru the piling, they wash well and feel terrific. I have an over sized mattress and the fitted sheet is large enough to cover the mattress plus a down feather bed.

NOT what they used to be...
I have used the 5oz. flannels for years. I have a massage practice and have bought them in large quantities. They have always lasted through the winter months without pilling badly, but this last purchase was almost unusable after one month. Very disappointing!! They must have changed suppliers? Now I have to look elsewhere.

so disappointing
Ordered these sheets in the shale gray. They were initially very soft and the color was lovely. However, after just a few nights of use, they started to pill and got even worse after the first wash. When I put them back on the bed after washing, I couldn't believe how bad they looked and felt with all the pilling.

Excellent sheets
I hesitated to buy these sheets because of the negative reviews. However, I did buy them, and I love them! I ordered kings sheets in beechnut color; they fit my deep matress perfectly and are a dream to sleep on. I have seen almost no "pilling" after several washes. I wanted to write this review for those that are considering these sheets - don't let the negative reviews stop you!!

Pilling is a disaster!
We are very displeased with these flannel sheets. I purchased them in Celery Root, and they have been in use for approximately 3 months. The pilling is extremely bad, with large pills and rough texture on the fitted sheet. PIlling on pillow case and flat sheet as well. They look like cheap inferior quality flannel sheets that are years old. The color has also faded. I have not had luck with Lands End sheets at all :(

I am very pleased with the 5 oz Flannel Sheets I bought recently.
I have two sets of flannel sheets in queen size and they are very generous in length , depth and width and extra long pillowcases. Our top mattress is 12 inches .They wash up beautifully. One set was purchased last year and the other a few weeks ago. We are happy to have this quality of flannel and would recommend these to everyone. Thanks Lands End!

I LOVE THESE SHEETS SO MUCH
I don't know what others are saying about the pilling. I have bought a total of 6 pairs of sheets over the past three months. The solid sheets wash beautifully with little shedding. I also bought the pillow ticking stripe flannels sheets as well and they are nice although I don't think they feel as soft or as thick. Our mattress is extra thick so these are the only sheet I have found that fit our bed without putting elastic clips on the fitted bottom sheet to make sure it stays on. I love these sheets and will buy more!!!

Really disappointed. Pilled immediately.
These sheets should be shot. They're not the top-drawer quality you'd expect from Land's End. We've only had them one month. They look like we've had them one decade. Hoping we can return them for the higher quality, albeit more expensive, Supima sheets.

uncomfortable
I bought this the new set of sheets to replace an old set from three years ago..Which was the best set of flannel sheets i have ever bought. I use them about nine months out of the year. I was excited about getting a new pair of sheets. I washed them they seemed great like the last set. I slept on them for four nights and bottom sheet was full of pills. Now a week later the top sheet is pillinng too. I'm very disappointed in the quality of sheets.

Softer than most, but still pills
I decided to "splurge" and buy these sheets based on the advertising in the catalog and online. While I agree that they are softer and thicker than those that I have bought in stores, I am disappointed by the fact they pill. I like the purple color and the way the pillowcases are longer than others I've purchased. Think the "resists pilling" is misleading.
