‘Tis The Season To “Love Giving” With Lands’ End
DODGEVILLE, Wis. (Nov. 14, 2011) – It’s the most wonderful time of the year. Lands’ End today announced its plans to help shoppers “Love Giving” with a flurry of holiday activities. The company will engage customers with its largest-ever collection of handmade and heirloom-quality gifts, a partnership with HGTV Design Star winner Emily Henderson and opportunities to give back to schools through DonorsChoose.org. Throughout the season, Lands’ End will also invite customers to connect on key shopping days, create fun social shopping experiences via Facebook, Twitter and text, and welcome thousands of seasonal employees.
“For almost half a century now, people have picked up the phone, stopped by the store or clicked over to landsend.com for our holiday gifts. And for the friendliest customer service south of the North Pole,” said Chris Kolbe, Brand President, Lands’ End. “This season we’ve created beautiful, timeless new gifts for the family – down-filled robes, personalized iPad covers, fresh greenery, hand-knit sweaters. All with that famous Lands’ End quality, at values we think can’t be beat.”
Santa’s elves have been hard at work. The Lands’ End 2011 Holiday Collection features the company’s largest selection of handcrafted and heirloom-quality gifts made by master artisans around the world and right here in the United States. With exclusive designs, unique specialties, limited editions and an extended array of gifts for the family pet, shoppers will find plenty of options to love giving and love receiving.
Holiday Theme: Love Giving
This holiday season, Lands’ End has embraced the theme of “Love Giving.” The company’s “Love Giving” campaign will inspire joy in gift giving and giving to those in need.
“The ‘Love Giving’ theme captures our commitment to help customers show they care – with thoughtful gifts that brighten the holidays for others,” said Kolbe. “We’re giving back to the community as well this season, and helping customers do so where they live, too. What feels more like Christmas than that?”
“Emily’s aesthetic could be called ‘modern nostalgia’; it’s a fusion of vintage and contemporary in spaces that are warm and inviting. For giving, for decorating, for dressing, this approach really defines our holiday collection,” said Kolbe. “We think people will appreciate just as we do her vision of how to create a beautiful and unforgettable holiday experience.”
Love Giving Back to Schools with DonorsChoose.org
Lands’ End will give thousands of shoppers the chance to give back to schools this holiday season with its Love Giving school initiative. Beginning Nov. 14, select customers will receive a personalized donation code to share a $25 gift with schools nationwide via DonorsChoose.org – more than $100,000 in total. The customers will have until Dec. 18 to select their school project for the donation.
To kick off the initiative, Lands’ End funded all DonorsChoose.org school wish lists in their Wisconsin based locations – Dodgeville, Madison, Reedsburg and Stevens Point – totaling more than $10,000 in donations. DonorsChoose.org donations fund a variety of classroom project requests from public school teachers across the country ranging from textbooks and field trips to planting gardens and music programs.
