Lands’ End Celebrates 50th Anniversary in an A(MAZE)ing Way
Company carves giant lighthouse logo and maze in cornfield adjacent to its Dodgeville headquarters
DODGEVILLE, WIS. (September 11, 2013) – The last place you’d expect to see a lighthouse is in the middle of a Wisconsin cornfield. But at Lands’ End, employees have made the journey through these cornfields for years. So, to celebrate the company’s 50th year in business, it wrapped a maze around its iconic lighthouse logo in a cornfield employees gaze towards everyday.
“Even though we’re a company that conjures up images of sailboats, harbors and waterfronts…we’re proud of our Southern Wisconsin roots,” said Kelly Ritchie, senior vice president of employee services. “We’re known to be creative, so we thought a custom corn maze would be a fun way to celebrate our 50th anniversary.”
Come Tour the Corn Maze!
Lands’ End employees got the first crack at solving the corn maze at the company’s annual summer celebration. Starting September 14th, the maze will be open to the public, with all proceeds benefitting Dodgeville Youth Athletics programs. The cost to walk the maze is $4 for adults and $3 for kids, with the exception of October 12th. The dates of operation are as follows:
