Lands' End Introduces Premium Leather Accessories Collection

DODGEVILLE, WIS. (August 1, 2013) – For decades, Lands’ End has been known for its iconic canvas tote bags.  This year, the classic American brand is taking its must-have bag collection one step further with the launch of a line of premium leather accessories.  The new line is called the Landmark Collection.  “The launch of this elevated line of handbags is in step with our strategic goal to build a larger accessories business and drive forward Lands’ End’s continued growth as a global lifestyle brand,” said Edgar Huber, CEO & president, Lands’ End.  “As we focus on introducing new innovative products, we will stay true to our heritage of offering high-quality merchandise and exceptional customer service at an honest value.”  The collection offers seven styles of handbags and small leather goods, each of which is named after a town in Wisconsin, where Lands’ End has its roots.  

“We have a big opportunity to go after this category in a new way. Our goal for the Landmark Collection is to deliver an elevated line of superior quality leather handbags at competitive prices,” says Marla Ryan, senior vice president, merchandising, Lands’ End. “There is a style for every woman and every occasion, no matter if she is running errands, on her way to the office or attending an evening event.  She can literally carry her day in these bags.”

The inspiration of the line is reminiscent of a prior Lands’ End handbag that was a customer favorite when sold in the ‘80s.  The design team took care to honor the original design, digging deep into archived catalogs. The Landmark Collection pays homage to the earlier design but brings an updated, modern sensibility perfect for today’s consumer.  The team spent over a year sourcing the right materials for this high-quality collection. Crafted specifically to meet the design team's stringent specifications, the rich, top-grain leather is drum-dyed with natural vegetable oils, ensuring that it will continue to soften over time. 

The Landmark Collection can be personalized by adding a heat-stamped monogram which provides a level of sophistication and distinctive personality to each bag.  The stamps are debossed directly on the leather and can also be done in either a gold or silver foil.  A monogrammed heart hangtag can be used to add personalization instead of monogramming the bag directly.  Other signature details in the collection include soft gold polished metal hardware that is made to be especially durable, collar pin details, signature lighthouse rivets, easy-to-clean brushed lining and an authentic dust bag for storage. 

The seven pieces within the collection range in style from a cardholder to a tote and are available in two colorways: cognac and black.
