otherwise ordinary fabric by brushing it. Brushing raises the soft,
lofty nap that's characteristic of flannel.

clustered around Guimaraes, the original capital as well as one
of its key wine-making regions, in the hills of Northern Portugal.

produce a longer-lasting pile. It's a slower process, but the results
are exceptional. These mills also use their years of flannel experience
to know when and how to vary the flannel's weave to compliment the pattern.
