In
1992, we formed a corporate giving committee at Lands' End that includes
employees who represent different disciplines within the company, different
communities and their local charitable causes. This approach makes sense.
These people know firsthand what's best for Lands' End and the communities
around us. This helps us put our money to good use — toward the best causes.
Lands' End receives many requests each week asking for support locally and
from across the nation. The majority of the money goes to local communities,
with the remainder ticketed for national giving.
Beckwith
Wiedemann Syndrome is a rare overgrowth disorder which occurs once in
every 15,000 births. To date, there are less than 400 reported cases across
the United States. Children born with BWS are at risk of developing hypoglycemia
and tumors. Lands' End donated teddy bears to the BWSN conference. Each
child tested was given a bear.
